I found the start of Until Next Time quite ominous, yet fitting for the scene that just took place, with Kris creating a fountain and all
@SSL_20043 жыл бұрын
Dont Forget wasn't noticeably used more sparingly in Chapter 2. Sensible considering Chapter 1 was LITERALLY drowning in it. The more prevalent motifs were Queen, Berdly, The World Revolving (Which I'm going to call the Knight motif) and City. (Also cute detail how the SOUL itself was restarting on until next time.)
@InsanePigeon3 жыл бұрын
I liked the chapter 1 don't forget motifs, It's not like they all sounded the same and it was fun to notice.

Why are you calling it the Knight motif?
@SSL_20043 жыл бұрын
@@tsunderecat413 Literally over a quarter of the entire Chapter 1 soundtrack had Don't Forget. I'm not saying that's a bad thing per se, But it does make sense that you would want a distance yourself from that song at least somewhat in the (proceed)ing chapters.
@FrostyMac3 жыл бұрын
I think the contrast in the amount of times the motif was used in Ch1 and Ch2 makes sense. It was used so many times in Ch1 in order to make sure everybody recognizes it. Repetition often makes something memorable. Now, Toby doesn’t have much reason to slather every track with it. Everybody already knows the motif.

you arent hearing anything, theyre just arpeggios. super basic thing used in a huge number of songs. its not that every time toby uses an arpeggio hes trying to reference gaster - its the other way round. gasters theme was likely made super quickly and so a basic looping arpeggio was an easy option
@Victsantgt3 жыл бұрын
@@smonkk8556 my theory is that toby made gaster's theme an arpeggio on purpose so it could be easy to add it to songs sneakily and so make it so he would even add it in mistakes, just to expand more on the gaster is everywhere theory

The point of the motif was to solidify the “your choices do not matter” in chapter 1. Once established, the motif doesnt really have much purpose left but remind you that your choices do not matter.
@adrianbeavis9910 Жыл бұрын
it makes slight sense, because we are move from Castle Town and it's dark world to other places, such as the Cyber World. C1 and its dark world is where Don't Forget originated from, and we are moving away from those places, thus we hear Don't Forget less to make room for unfamiliar leitmotifs, representing unfamiliar places. Edit: the real reason we are hearing it less is probably so Toby can play around making other leitmotifs
