@@augustdeer yup! although it is a reference to a dialogue from Toriel in the Alarm Clock where she talks of a memory she has of Chara, about how for some reason she never understood, they would always fill their glasses of water to the absolute brim / limit regardless of how thirsty they were.

okay so i watched this, read the description, then lost three hours to your theory. it beautiful. i remember reading a really short post about how the player might be the angel's heaven, and i Certainly remember dozens of "chara is the narrator in deltarune somehow" takes, and as a counter, trying to formulate this idea of chara as a "role" rather than a "person". this document puts it all together in such a well-realized fashion, it's honestly astonishing how well you've researched and thought out both undertale and deltarune. even the finer analyses had me thinking realll hard, like how every dark world being *specifically* themed around escapism got my mind racing about how religion is it's own kind of escapism (because, like, there's gonna be a church world, right??) there are some minor inconsistencies (off the top of my head, the vessel's default traits have a bug in them that sets their gift to something other than the first option AND berdly and noelle weren't necessarily asleep or even in the library when the fountain was created) but even if this doesn't stand as a theory when deltarune releases proper, it's still such a thoughtful takedown of both undertale and deltarune's themes and metanarrative... i'd call it effortless but it's clear there was a shit ton of effort put into this :V so yeah!!! this comment is more about the theory than the video, but i had to let you know that i think it's incredible what you've put together :)

thank youuu !!! this means a lot to me !!! >◡< the thing about Noelle and Berdly sleeping is mostly mentioned quickly because there are already a lot of big theories in the fandom that show why it's likely. I don't remember everything about them but from memory: Noelle believes it was all a dream and never mentions finding a dark room asking "How did we get here?". Knowing her, she probably wouldn't have jumped inside if she found a void in there. Then her dad in the weird route tells her how he was expecting her to fall asleep studying with Berdly, and she laughs adding how Berdly fell asleep too. Susie tells Queen that Noelle needs to wake up, and Queen replies saying "Let Her Sleep Away Into A Darker, Darker Dream..." And obviously the biggest hint is how after sealing the fountain and going back to the Light World, Kris and Susie are standing still, but Noelle and Berdly are sitting on chairs with their heads entirely down on the table and their books already on it. Of course, it's not impossible that they didn't fall asleep, but the game seems to hint at it a lot. Also I never knew about a bug !!! that's funny sjsksk 💗💕 I always saw people mentioning how one of the options is different, along with the deltarune wiki, but it stopped there. Oh !! Since you liked it I'll tell you another religious parallelism about the Vessel that I noticed only after the document was finished. The concept of Vessel in religion, being something each Christian can achieve by giving themself to God's purpose and following it, is strongly related to the spiritual connection between God and Humans, as God created them. In Genesis, there is a phrase that became famous and essential for everything about this religion being: "God created man in his own image." After choosing the body for the Vessel, Gaster will begin asking the questions about its personality, favorite food etc. He will introduce these questions by saying... "LET US SHAPE ITS MIND AS YOUR OWN."

This is it, this is the coolest thing I’ve seen for the anniversary. As a huge fan of the oblivion theory AND your work this is just perfect. I’ve always thought RPG would be great for a Deltarune animation and now it’s done. Absolutely stunning

NOT ONLY IS THIS ANIMATION ABSOLUTELY AWESOME EPIC AND FUN BUT THE GOOGLE-DOC IN THE DESCRIPTION IS SIMPLY IMMACULATE, I’M READING THROUGH IT RIGHT NOW(still in the Undertale section) AND IT HONESTLY SO FAR ENCAPSULATES THE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT UNDERTALE THE MOST PERFECTLY(and why it’s my favourite game) EVERYONE GO GIVE IT A READ IT’S AMAZING (And it reminded me even more why Flowey is so cool as if I’m not ALREADY obsessed enough with the guy XD)

Aw, this is so cool! Brings me back to playing through Chapters 1 & 2 at the time of their respective release dates, I love the energy "I want our adventure to never reach its end". Oof, this so much. I'm not looking forward to the day that Deltarune's development has concluded and most of the fandom and excitement surrounding the game has dwindled. I will dearly miss this wonderful time spent within the Deltarune community, especially seeing the passionate creativity on display in works like these.
