People nowadays talk a lot about training a muscle with the line of fibers of that particular muscle. If posterior deltoid extends the humerus and it’s fibers run diagonally should we train that extension diagonally and not straight bet to get most of it? Thanks!

Yes, in theory it is best to train the muscle in line with the pull of the fibers. Your own anthropometry and individual muscle variations will influence the optimal technique, exercise selection and angles though. Personally I would find exercises that gives you good indications of hypertrophy in the target muscle. For example: you feel high tension in the rears delts while working them, or get a burn in the rear delts, or you feel a pump in the rear delts, or you get soreness the next day if you do a large number of sets of that exercise. Those are all indicators of effective hypertrophy, but not all of them have to be present for an exercise to be effective. I'd personally use those indicators the most to determine my ideal form. If that means you deviate from what is the theoretically 'ideal' line of pull, that is fine, were all built slightly different.

@@BodyworksPrime How much of the posterior deltoid attaches to the spine of scapula like the anterior deltoid covers 1/3 of the clavicle at its lateral portion?
