I know there's been a theory on this channel talking about the slight possibility of Dr. Facilier being Tiana's dad. What if Dr. Facilier was actually Tiana's uncle, her dad's brother. Then after finding out his brother died, Facilier got into voodoo and began to blame the rich folk. That could also explain how Facilier knew about Tiana's dream. Facilier knew from his childhood with his brother that he wanted to start his own restaurant. As Tiana's dad was dying, he asked Facilier to watch over Tiana, however, when Facilier looked at Tiana he saw his brother, so he watched her from a distance.

A lil tidbit to add here is NONE of the Loa are evil. All are powerful at varying degrees and some have darker themes as they are rooted deeply to the world but no aspect of voodoo is grounded in evil, vengeful at times, but still very human

I don’t think anything made him turn to evil but his own greed maybe his mother was mama odie she taught him the good side of vodoo but he craved power so her turned to the evil to make deals at the end his own greed caused his downfall

The doctor is definitely a mulatto. His eyes are blue, and he is fairly light skinned. One scene that sticks out is when he holds up the shrunken head and claims to be half royal on his mother's side. What if that was true? What if a noblewoman had a affair with a black serving man, which produced Facilier? Shrunken head are a South American practice. What if he was raised by his father's family, and killed her for the sake of the ritual, then fled to New Orlean: getting into voodoo later? He hates the upper class for being deprived his birthright.

You know one thing I theorized about Doctor facility. A, is that, he was trying to liberate the black community in New Orleans, kind of like Eric killamanger in black panther, only. They went down the wrong path to do it comma indeed , it's mostly out of resentment, And maybe Doctor facility would have done the same to the black community, but I feel him being a black man, and New Orleans. During this time, and seeing all the wealth and privilege that white people had, he would have wanted, to make things even for him. And other people who look like him, this is just my theory of course.
