Yeah man Bob from accounting on the drums was cool. He had that pocket down for sure, minimalist dopeness. This new cat opens up a little more, a little more dynamic when needed. I think he compliments their sound well. Let’s all have a round of applause for the new guy- let’s call him Vanilla Weiss lol

This drummer is a good fit. He keeps it tight, plays what's needed and provides a solid consistent groove that Lamar and Jimmy can do their thing to. Seem like he's easy to play with. He'll probably record well too. Dave is missed, but the sticks seem to be in good hands.

Give Weiss some time, he's got in in a few spots, he'll get there. The track he wrote is pretty hot. I'm excited to see what he brings. I am a sucker for the organ but, as incredible as Delvon is, Jimmy is what sells this band to me. I *love* Jimmy James so darn much. His solos are funky and innovative. You have to be pretty amazing to get away with calling yourself Jimmy James as a stage name, while also being from Seattle, and the man pulls it off. I love his work so much I built a copy of his beater strat, and named it after him. So jealous of his (Harmony?) 335ish catalog guitar. I'm on the hunt for the closest match I can find. JJ, if you read this, from a fellow guitar player and lover of the instrument, thank you. Your love of the instrument flows out from everything I've heard you on, and it's absolutely inspiring.

Agreed, from seeing (online) James' work in True Loves, he's really an institution. The difference is that the organ is most like an accompanying vocalist and with the True Loves it was a more encompassing 'band' sound. He's a stand out performer in both settings.

Guys, the new drummer is amazing, I think his play is a touch softer and funkier (?) than the way Dave McGraw played, so in some ways it is more musical.. But this was the thing with Dave that he just gave the organ and the guitar such a fundament, he was the platform that helped the other two to lift off, and he held the music together. The music is still amazing but in a different way. ... Actually it is bloody amazing...
