I’ve never heard such utter propagandistic bollocks from any CEO. So “it happened to” Qantas!?! The current Qantas CEO literally did the dirties herself mate!! Ridiculous.

Just a note, Emirates made 40billion on their ancillary businesses, apart from flying last year, who would think air miles were so valuable?
@AleksFolk19 ай бұрын
Ancillary isn't just related to miles. In Emirates case their ancillary comes from seat payments (exit row seats cost up to AUD250 per person *50 seats, forward seats and certain offers are in excess of AUD30). Emirates sells access to their lounges for about AUD100. Excess baggage purchases are another ancillary. From a points perspective, they charge ridiculous fees to use points in comparison to purchasing a revenue ticket.

Yes, the seat charging is particularly annoying, first came across that with Air Asia.@@AleksFolk1

People like me. People that missed out because of the pandemic and had to start all over again. I was three days away from booking my ticket when the world went anal. Had I been stuck there I would have come home with the benefit of speaking three languages...

Asking the emirates ceo a Dubai based airline if they would fly Sydney to London non stop, what a stupid question lol
@AleksFolk19 ай бұрын
True that! They would be crazy to take airport business away from their home base. Travellers via and into Dubai are money for Emirates as well.

The demand for Sydney and Melbourne is not driven just by locals, but internationals wanting to visit those cities.
@electro_sykes9 ай бұрын
@@AleksFolk1 a lot of internationals also go to Brisbane. We are the gateway to Queensland, inlcuding the whitsundays, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast and even Far North QLD
@AleksFolk19 ай бұрын
@@electro_sykes the demand hasn’t been there as much as it has for the other locations where they’ve increased capacity to date. Also Sydney has direct flights to some of those, so can act as a gateway in that regard to Gold Coast, Cairns Townsville, Hamilton Island - all with direct flights. Sydney alone has a population larger than QLD combined according to latest data, business and corporate HQs are also mostly located in greater Sydney. Hence there will always be more demand for flights to/from Sydney over Brisbane.

@@AleksFolk1 true but the olympics are coming to Brisbane. In the past it was only locals going overseas on the flights, but not many tourists, but now things are different. We were promised direct to chicago but now we miss out to sydney. We have a very underused international terminal here
