This is my Mom. Thank you. That’s all I’m doing right now and trying to calm her.

Excellent 👌 Here in UK doctors can't help care givers much. Teepa is great. Glad I found your videos.👍

Thanks for watching. Yes, caregivers often are left to figure it out themselves. Not easy!

As a wife of a dementia patient it’s 24/7 and overwhelming. I can’t afford another option nor do I want to not be with a 57 year partner. 27:54

It IS overwhelming. I hope you are able to at least get breaks now and then. They're so necessary.

Reach out to your local Alzheimer’s Association-- ask if they offer any Caregiver Respite Grants-- we did this and were able to get help-- it's short term- but it helped! 🙏 Wishing you and yours the best-- the struggle is all too real

How do you get siblings involved?
@sandralevineprod7 күн бұрын
Great question, and can be tricky. Experts I've interviewed have stressed several things: match the task to the person. I.e. give someone who is comfortable with legal stuff tasks in that area, rather then asking them to take loved one to the doctor. Also , be very specific about what needs to be done. I.e., I need you to do X, for Y amount of time, on Z date. Give up the idea that others must do everything exactly as you do. And take breaks when you can. If your siblings won't step in to help, find other family, friends, people in your larger community, or paid help to do so, so you can get away. I always recommend Teepa's website for advice. There also will be episodes posted here in early Jan/Feb (and ongoing) about these topics. I hope this helps, and good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear. That must be incredibly difficult. There are a lot of resources online...still you will need plenty of support.
