Do you realize why this song means so much to Connie? Demi is singing about her drug addiction. Connie is singing about her own frustration with the music industry. She's been on the scene for twelve years now and isn't where she deserves to be. She's written songs about it and voiced her disappointment for years. There's no justice.

Big artists are brands (not just the musician), and there's a lot that goes behind. Most artists aren't aware that it needs a managing team oriented towards that in order to make it big in the industry. Connie is so talented as a singer and musician though.

@@tinkerer67 Now that she is with DistroKid and streaming has superseded terrestrial radio she should succeed, IF, she is willing to put forth the effort. Even major artists who's contracts with labels have run out are switching to distribution services(Ludacris, for example). Independent artists have already reached #1 on Itunes and Spotify(which is basically the world's largest radio), through DistroKid.

Let me add that the three major labels, WMG, UMG. and Sony have been buying and sabotaging distribution services. Sony recently bought TuneCore, which was the #1 distribution service and ruined it on purpose. Check YT for vids on this. Three labels want a monopoly.

@@intermenater You're right about distribution services, and that it's the best method to publish your music for big and small artists alike. But, I wasn't referring to the publishing aspect of music, or labels. I mentioned that managing aspect is more important if you want to make it really big. Lot's of new big artists, for example, in their acknowledgement speeches after winning awards, almost always thank their manager (team), but doesn't always thank the label (some do however). In interviews, when asked the question how they reached there, they usually mention their managing teams. Managers are responsible for creating a brand, finding deals, shows for you. If Connie wants to make it big and had a good team who knows the industry, they will advise her to ditch these regular covers and start creating a unique image for her with originals. Some don't want to make it big because making it that big will be very stressful and could destroy lives. A good documentary around this whole topic is Avicii's (can't remember the title).

Connie Talbot is fast becoming my favorite female vocal artist. I think she's simply amazing. She can belt out the big notes as well as anyone but she also shines with her softer, quiet register. Plus she sings with an impeccable attention to dynamics, she has really nice stage presence, she's a sweetheart, and she's beautiful. In a word, everything about Connie is a Wow!

I often forgot that Connie is not that little girl, now she kinda made me wanna cry with this song. I have to confess that I love seen Connie over the years just singing because she loves it, but now I just release that she is a complete artist, not just a musician, an artist capable of make people feel something, sometimes sweet, sometimes heartbreaking but always wonderful.
