I don’t know why you were discrediting it how someone identifies is valid just as much even if you got through a lot, I have and my label has changed a few times but I was telling the truth every time

Wasn’t really discrediting per se. I was opening up about how I thought about it at first and what other people were saying. But yes I agree with you that people can change their identity and still be valid :)

I really like what was say on the podcast, it was really informative. I agree with you is not that hard to use the pronouns is the bare minimum to say the pronouns and respect them as a person. Sadly with this I have seen a lot of horrible comments on social media and people don't respecting the pronouns and just invalidating someones identity. I think we still have a long way to go as a society. Love your videos and channel. Hope you are doing well.

I do agree that there needs to be a more concrete definition in order to be taken seriously which sucks. As for questioning demi I don't think that you're the first or last person to do so and I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. It'll be interesting to see if demi starts talking about dysphoria because in my opinion it needs to there to be NB.

I wish we could come up with some new non-binary pronouns. The they/them always confuses me cause I automatically read it as a plural. Obviously I still respect it and use preferred pronouns just a thought. Yeah my only understanding of non binary was people that didn't identify as either gender but then I didn't really get it cause it seemed like they were basing that on just not conforming to gender norms. I'm glad you explained it a little better. THANK YOU! EDIT: Agree we should discuss non binary more. I've learned more about trans but not about non binary. Like there was a brain study and apparently people that identify as trans actually have the brain features of the gender they identify as which is interesting. I'd be curious to see what the neurological features would be of a non binary brain, if the results of the study would be similar.

Right! And it’s funny cuz everyone actually uses “they/them” in common speech without even realizing it lol. Example: “This person left their book, I wonder when they’ll be back to get it.” Or, “I was driving and they literally cut me off. They were driving too fast”. So they them is grammatically correct for singular use. 😝

I want to start out by saying I respect your opinions and I don't necessarily disagree, because you do make some good points, I especially agree with your final statement on how we should lift each other up and changing labels is valid. I've been subscribed to you for probably four years now and I love how far you've come and how much more confident you are now. I'm trans myself and have noticed that lately more people are identifying as nonbinary. It's a very complex discussion. I agree, that it might seem like a "trend" because so many people have recently started identifying as nonbinary or using they/them pronouns, sometimes additional to other pronouns. However, this happened during a time where a lot of people had time to self reflect and think about their identity, as well as educate themselves on it for probably the first time in their lives, because they just never questioned it before. They never really felt the need to, because they maybe felt comfortable enough being percieved as their AGAB. I see a lot of people saying, that while they don't feel any discomfort being labelled as a man or a woman, that label doesn't MEAN anything to them. Why doesn't it mean anything? Maybe because the binary gender system is bullshit. We immediately assume that most people's experience of gender identity is binary. I've had this thought for a while - what if so many people starting to feel connected to the label nonbinary is proof, that gender really isn't as binary as we thought for centuries? Being nonbinary shouldn't be used as a label to seem woke and yes, that's very dangerous. You also mentioned dysphoria and I don't want to get too deep into that because it also causes me dysphoria and I don't really have a strong opinion on this but do you have to have dysphoria to identify as nonbinary? Because nonbinary can be an umbrella term and nonbinary people aren't necessarily trans, right? And the thing Alok mentioned in the podcast how gender-nonconforming lesbians are still women isn't necessarily wrong but it doesn't sit entirely right with me because nonbinary lesbians exist, nonbinary can be included in any sexuality.

Hi thanks for your comment! Sorry I’m late to it. So non binary is a trans identity. So I’m a trans non binary person. So yes, you need some level of dysphoria to be non binary , just like a binary trans person would need dysphoria. Hope this helps!
@tpwk-bloom

@@QueenHalo I know that this is very controversial and I'm not the best person to talk about this because I do experience dysphoria but like I mentioned not every nonbinary person identifies as trans so maybe the dysphoria is different or it's something else entirely? And with binary trans people, there are also some that say they don't experience dysphoria

Fellow enby here! Thanks for being one of the few people not to speak about this in a negative way from the outset. I’m sure a lot of non-binary people have some mixed feelings about this news, thanks for your openness and honesty.
