Demi don’t beat yourself up about it! You did amazing! And you got up and went and that’s all that matters! Be proud of yourself for making the move as I know how hard and intimidating it can be! I’ve been going to the gym for years and I still get days where I ask myself “am I doing this right?” Or “are they watching me” ❤❤

I felt so overwhelmed about the gym, I didn’t want to go, point blank. I’ve now lost 10 stone , through calorie deficit & gym (when I can). I love the gym, it’s so amazing! You do whatever you can because no matter what you do, you’re in control. If you only want to do 20 mins then that’s amazing or a 2 hour session, it really doesn’t matter. I promise you no one is looking at you, they mos likely were checking you were okay! I know I look around at new people and keep an eye incase they need any help , like I did at the beginning. Start small and work up! ❤️

You really did so well Demi! Your form when squatting was really good! The gym isn't for everyone and even people that go regularly have self conscious moments and doubts at the gym, and remember everyone has to start somewhere and it's all a learning process! Proud of you!❤

It’ll come! I hated the gym too. Once I turned it into a routine slowly and didn’t pressure myself with food etc I started loving it and got more comfortable there. Just takes time ❤

I find gym classes the best fit for me personally, as someone is guiding you through the exercises! I also find being in a group more motivating :)

I go to the gym often and I’ve gone for years, and I know exactly what I’m doing etc. Yet I still get paranoid when I’m walking around or waiting for a machine, it’s definitely a mental thing and lots of people struggle so you’re not alone! ❤

The gym is hard girl! I used to be extremely into my fitness through lockdown and unfortunately, like you it didn’t take a great turn and became quite obsessive. Now I just go for small runs floor exercises etc at home and do what makes me feel good. Well done for going. ❤️

I’ve had this feeling from August last year, part of me wants to go and other part says no. But if I don’t go, I’ll be letting myself down. I do 30 minutes tops and have found it really helps my mental health although I am aiming to start weights at home now as well as going the gym. You did a whole lot more than I do. I do just the cycling machine. So, you did amazing. Don’t wear makeup for gym. All natural is best. Everyone is there for a reason so never feel like you don’t belong. Gym for me helps me get up in the morning, get into a routine etc as long as you’re sweating, you’re burning calories. I play my music and I just mind my own business. Best way to do it.

Good on you for going! The gyms not for everyone. Walking is such a great way to improve health and fitness and it's low impact, & free. 10k steps a day, you'll get most of them taking the dogs out a couple times a day then on YT there's loads of step workout videos they're really good to do, and youve got your gym stuff in the garage get yourself in there could even get Jess to join you for a few workouts.

You did so good! I recommend seeing if there’s a bannatyne gym near you. On your first day you can get a session with a member of staff who will write you a programme you can follow (no extra cost) and it’s suited to you. They will also give you advice. They also offer lots of classes that are so good and are for every ability. Also the spas and pools are lush hahaha xx

Demi honestly if gym isn't for you it's ok. I've started saying to myself I work out because I love my body and I want to give my body the best. I just move around more and a game changer for me is a treadmill a fold away 1 and I do 30 minutes on that a day while watching tv or talking on the phone and it's so quiet too. Or even blast music in your ears and go for a nice walk around a country park. How I see it is moving your body about is a positive any way and makes you feel better try not to put 2 much pressure on your self winter is a time for reflection and hibernation be kind to your self x

Hi Demi, I don't know how practical this is for you being in Newcastle but I live in Washington and go to Studio 10. I cannot stick to any exercise at all but then I started going (nearly 2 years ago now!) and I love it. It's mostly dance fitness type classes (and I know you've mentioned liking zumba) and the community is brilliant. I am not a fitness person but I look forward to going to the classes and don't dread it at all. It might not be for you but thought I'd share

There’s no shame I’m not feeling ‘good’ after going to the gym…I get so bored in the gym staring at the machine in front of me I find it really hard to do. I have found recently that going out walking every day for an hour has honestly improved my quality of life and my life in general. It’s so much easier working out when you’ve got scenery to enjoy and I’ve found walking to be the most effective and so precious. Find your flow and keep going❤️

Don't focus on losing weight. Focus on lifting moren doing more steps, eating healthier meals ect. Focus your mind on the important stuff like that and the weight will come off with doing that. I once waked into a gym and straight back out because I didn't know what to do so I wrote down a couple of excersises to do next time.

I used to love the gym then started the classes & almost had an addiction to body attack! Spin was the last class I was doing before covid & I loved it but I haven't been back since, definitely lost the will& refuse to pay that kinda money. But you know what I found was my best exercise ever, walking my 3 springer spaniels every day! Stick with your pups Demi& try maybe getting Sean into bike riding with you. The gym is overrated 😉🤔 💛🌠✌️

Don’t feel bad about the gym. Shaun is right at least you went there and had a good go of it. But I’m like you I don’t like busy environments especially at a gym. I’ve got a treadmill at home and small towing machine and they are great at getting the heart rate up and it’s enough with walking your dogs aswell. If your eating healthily it’ll all make a difference together. I’ve not been getting anywhere with SW so I’m thinking of doing calorie counting do I’m in a calorie deficit but nothing extreme lol take care you are awesome. I also love my hobbies 🙌😘xx

Hate the gym and watching your video was like listening to myself!!!🤣 I console myself with the notion of less wear and tear on joints and ligaments will prevent or at least delay problems (hip and knee replacements) absolute RUBBISH I know but thats my thoughts and Im sticking to it😂😂

Find an activity you love and know you’ll stick to 😊 the gym isn’t for everyone, there are SO MANY activities related to better health and movement! Consistency is the key so find something you love enough to know you’ll stick to - remember most fat is burned through NEAT not structured exercise…you’ve got this Dem 💛

I would suggest trying Grow with Jo videos on KZbin. You can do videos of a certain length, more advanced videos, no equipment or dance style videos. I love the dance/Zumba style videos, but also the toning body weight 30 min videos, all in the comfort of my own home. Your only in competition with yourself too and can take it at your pace ❤ you can pick these up when it suits you in your day x

Don’t worry about not liking the gym. It’s not for everyone. I know you love dancing and there’s a KZbinr called emkfit who posts a load of dance workouts, that might be more your thing. It’s fun and doesn’t feel like a workout. There’s no point in working out when youre not enjoying your self

Why not forget the gym & stick to exercises at home or walking etc, there was a time when gyms didn't exist & people still exercised, maybe join a class so you've got a time every week to be there & your with or people you'd may find it more fun

@@leabeauty837 I wasn't! Demi said she wasn't keen on the gym environment so I was merely suggesting 'alternative' methods of exercise all of which involve other people, I think you'll find she actually agreed with the suggestion, you don't have to go to a gym to exercise!!

Try and find some form of exercise that you enjoy Demi. You’re more likely to keep it up if you like what you’re doing. The gym isn’t for everyone. I couldn’t do it so well done for going. x

I can't stand going to the gym, I started doing home workouts - grow with Jo is great! And I've found this works great for me! I think it's all about finding something that you love to do and you'll stick to it 😁

I went to the gym for the 2nd time this year, I missed almost a month because of Christmas and get togethers etc.. I will say, today, I'm really proud of myself that I ran, as I've been rubbish at doing cardio. If you aren't keen on the gym, try hola hoop, you really work out your abs...each time you have to pick the darn thing up. Lol.

There's a local gym to the area you live ran by NTC. Walking distance from where you are. I recommend it. The instructors are fab and will set up a training plan for you for free. I was conscious when I first started about people looking but they really don't. Plus, they are currently running a special offer where you join for £10 and don't pay anything more til March. There's lots of exercise classes if you don't fancy gym and there's also the pool for a swim.

You definitely need a more supportive sports bra for next time you exercise, otherwise you could end up really hurting your back/shoulders. I highly recommend the Elomi sports bra, and it goes up to a K cup.

I think classes are the best way to go, I went to only classes and PT for the first 4 months then I got way more confident and went to the gym now and then along side it, I personally don’t rate the gym and much prefer classes and PT

The gym isn’t for everyone I don’t think! I do home workouts, grow with jo or the body project are amazing youtube channels and are so much fun and so much more than just HIIT workouts now they are really advanced and enjoyable!

Hate the gym, i went once in my life, some girls started picking at me because i was underweight asking "why r u here" and "u dont need to be here and all this BS, and i just hated it ever since. Have no plans to return

Yeh Ngl that hotel gym thing you went to was so expensive. Idk if this is normal for places around to but I think you should go to an actual gym that is only a gym. I pay £5 for a walk in. I also have a membership at pure gym you’ll find a lot of gym beginners there and the staff are really nice too.

I'm much more likely to exercise in my living room than I am to go to the gym, i think you'd be the same, at home no one sees your outfit, your hair, your no makeup sweaty face and you can take a break and do as long as you want 🤗🤗

I personally feel like I wouldn’t enjoy the gym but I do at home workouts on KZbin and an app I have by Lilly sabri and I prefer it so much more, as I don’t have the equipment to be able to progress but as long as I’m moving my body I think it’s okay ❤

Some people find it really difficult to find the courage to even go to the gym, let alone go without makeup. Everyone is different, everyone has different insecurities. I’d b the exact same x

I go to the gym regularly…all I do is get on the treadmill, set it for 1 hour and walk and watch KZbin videos. I don’t sweat but I get in over 3 miles, burn some calories, and I wear jeans and a tee shirt (makeup) if I have other places I want to go so it’s not a burden to the rest of the day.
