Fantastic knife. Wish they were more available. Hopefully Cold Steel will make an AD20 for the masses!

I’ve got a 3.5” snake knot lanyard on my AD20. Makes drawing the knife from my pocket way easier. Helps me find it quicker when not looking too. I use them on many knives so I like having a spot for them. Civivi does it really well by using a pin instead of a hole. So it doesn’t interfere with the ergos

I’m cutting back on knife purchases right now just to try and get one of these! I was going to grab a Hinderer but I think I’ll try for one of these first. I saw that video MC did and he was gushing so much over it it changed my mind on which one to get first. Plus I like this one you have a lot. That black and silver looks excellent. Thanks Jerad

I put leather lanyards with beads on my knives. However, the setup on the AD20 isn’t my favorite. It seems like they could’ve done that differently. EDIT: I usually only put lanyards on smaller knives (7” or smaller in overall length), as it gives your pinky something to hang on to. However some big knives get a lanyard from me as well!
@NeevesKnives
@NeevesKnives 3 жыл бұрын
Do you put lanyard on big knives like this one, i dont mind them on certain smaller knives infact it can sometimes help grip but the big ones i feel like they get in the way of grip but thats imho
@samuelrichardsonmcgravyber4559
@samuelrichardsonmcgravyber4559 3 жыл бұрын
@@NeevesKnives Some big knives I do, especially If I have a bead that can go with the theme of the knife, for example, I have a civivi elementum with brass scales, I put a brass bead on it. Half the battle is it looking cool, the lanyard with a bead just adds a little flare. It’s a way to personalize a knife and make it your own! The biggest knife I have a lanyard on is probably my Recon 1, followed by my Spyderco shaman. Comes down to preferences, but you are right, big knives with lanyards don’t make as much sense as a small knife with one 👍

I actually prefer axis lock. If I were jimping on the spine and doing pull cut, I could see my self slipping my thumb pass the lock potentially disengaging it.

Ex-Layard guy. Frankly, maybe others use them as a function, but they where only decoration for me. Many times they would get in the way of the blade openings and always added to what I was carrying. A lanyard bead, I call those knofe scratchers. So recently, I removed all my lanyards, so over short paracord going through my knife as useful. Its just jewelry hat I am happier without.

👎🏻. Good effort, but the technical aspects (the most important aspects) were rushed. If one blinks they will miss the still photos of the lock internals. Too much time was spent flipping the knife. Also, it is repeatedly said, “I understand why …” something is the way it is. If you understand why they manufactured it a certain way then you must also understand why they did not take another direction. Nothing personal as I felt this was a good effort I just thought the important stuff was rushed through while we watched you continually flipping the knife. Good tip on why G-10 scales might be better than titanium.

No they aren't available. There has been a few big drops of them at various retailers. Demko is working on making enough to distribute to dealers again. Their popularity exploded to the point when dealers would announce they had inventory of them, they would sell out unless than 5 minutes. Just too high of demand for a knife made by one guy and his brother in a shop.

the shark lock actually has almost nothing in common with the triad lock, and almost everything in common with cross bar locks (axis locks). Moving that stop pin would not increase strength... the direction of travel for the locking bars is in perpendicular when comparing the triad/backlock to shark/cross bar locks... Moving that stop pin would be the same as moving the stop in on an axis lock. That being said, I also hate gaps like that on my knives. I've got some really classy smooth curvy knives that have that gap and it completely RUINS the lines of the knife, but the demko is not exactly a "classy" knife.

Nice review man ...but I'm disagree with you on one thing...that gap about your talking about it.s not so nice to look at ...true... but in my opinion it has to be like this...if the blade was longer on that point to touching the shark lock...will block that "holes" in the front of the lock...and I think that"holes" was made with a purpose to make more comfortable the finger action on the lock...and anyway I don't think that change will make the lock stronger... maybe with the thumbstuds touching the handle instead of the stop pin... like hinderers...that maybe could be a good thing...I'm sorry for my English...I'm from Italy I don't speak English perfect...
@NeevesKnives
@NeevesKnives 3 жыл бұрын
@@cristian4219 I completely understand what your saying i only meant it could possibly be stronger because then it would be sort of like the tri ad by having multiple points of contact, but I honestly think it could work and then the jimping would go all the way back with no gap, open and closed but it’s just a though I think we both agree that it’s an amazing knife
