Demo Heco The New Statement vs. Canton Reference 7 K Nils Lofgren - Keith dont go

When searching for info about the Heco The New Statement I own and the Canton Reference 7 K I upgraded to there was not much to find, especially when it came to demo videos!
Hence, I'll post my comparison between them :-)
I'm using my Huawei P20Pro phone with a Boya BY-DM100 USB microphone, handheld in listening position.
I'm playing from my CD backup on NAS with Mconnect on my Hegel H390 streamer, with Heimdall 2 cables and Furutech FS a36cable/FT212 plugs as jumpers. The volume setting is fixed at 45 on all tracks. The speakers are placed on 15 kg granite plates on the wooden floor.
The second track is a classic demo track with Nils Lofgren from his acoustic live recording with Vision Music owning the rights. The track contains detailed guitar and voices.

I would buy a pair of these Heco's today if they were available. I called the nearest dealer to me in Pineville NC. They told me they cannot get any nor even order them. whats up with that ?

I can understand that Clas! The Statements have reached end of production since long. However, what I heard from friends is that the Celan Revolution 9 are very much the heir to the Statement line! But I'm sure you could find a pair of well kept Statements on the used marked close to your location 😀

I agree! The music hold together better with them. But, only after the slight backward tilt 😀

I'm sure they could do very well in a lager room but in my room they were to rich in the bass. I only have 20 m2 and needed to have them only 30 cm from the back wall. Now with the side firing 10 inch woofers the sound is much more balanced 🙂

@@EinarLauning 10 inch these only have 2x 6,5 inch woofers right..? And i have 20 m2 too and have 2x 7 inch woofers in my speaker and bass is prominent but not too much cause like my bass 😇

I play on a pair of severely tweaked Mordaunt-Short MS908 with two front firing 5 1/4 inches midrange and midbass and a 10 inch woofer in a sat-sub configuration!

Hallo :) Is the heco crispy in live ? The Canton Sound a Bit less in the highs. Heco is such an Good looking speaker.

Absolutely! However both brands are crisp and energetic in both high and midrange, the New Statement's have more power in the low frequencies 😀

Mine didn't but I don't know how they sound with original crossovers. My pair had hughly improved crossovers with high quality components.

Einar, now the Cantons look and even sound better , if that is even possible. As such, the comparison is perfect, two of my shortlist contenders. All in all, the aesthetics of the Canton Ref 7 are just infinitely sublime.

I totally agree Chase! The Canton build finish is superior to Heco and the sound is more homogenous 🙂

No use to compare to pair of speakers true a KZbin video! You still hear that sound from Your own speakers or headphones, otherwise you have to be at his place to hear those speakers 🙄
