How to apply for an Advance Authorization on the DGFT e-Platform? In this brief video, I will provide guidance on applying for Advance Authorisation for the import of duty-free inputs for Manufacturing Export Items. What is an Advance Authorization? • It is an authorization issued for export promotion under its Foreign Trade Policy. • AA when presented at Customs allows the exporter to import duty-free inputs which are used for making an export product. • AA is issued with an obligation for the exporter to meet the export requirement. • Any Merchant (tied to supporting manufacturer) or manufacturer having an IEC may apply for an AA. • Please refer to Chapter 4 of the Foreign Trade Policy and the Handbook of Procedures for details How to apply for an Advance Authorization? Step 1 - Please login to the DGFT e-platform, link your IEC. Ensure that your IEC Profile is updated. If not please update all details before applying. Step 2 - Any CA/CE certificate required for No Norms etc.should be added to the CA/CE repository prior to applying for AA. Step 3 - Proceed to Services  Advance Authorisation /DFIAApply for Advance Authorisation (ANF-4A) for creating a draft application Step 4 - Fill in the Details & sign the application using DSC or Aadhaar e-sign and proceed to payment of fees Step 5 - On successful payment of fees the file would be auto-submitted to the DGFT RA concerned based on the address of the branch selected by you in the application. Step 6 -You may monitor the status of the application under MyDashboard  Submitted applications Step 7 - On approval, the authorisation generated would be electronically transmitted to Customs Authorities. An e-copy of the Authorizationwould be available for download under Submitted Applications  Action  View Approved License Frequently Asked Questions Q1 - What is Actual User Condition? - Inputs imported under AA are not transferable and must be used by authorization holder only - However it can be transferred to supporting manufacturer for Job Work - Waste / Scrap resulting from production can be disposed off by paying applicable duties Q2 - What is value addition? - Value addition calculates the difference between the FOB/FOR value of export/supply and CIF value of the inputs covered under the scheme, as a percentage of the latter. Q3 - How value addition is calculated? - Value addition for all items (except for Gems and Jewellery) is calculated as below: Value Addition = [(A-B)/B]*100 Where A= FOB value of export realized/FOR value of supply received. B= CIF value of inputs covered by Authorization, plus value of any other input used on which benefit of DBK (duty drawback) is claimed or intended to be claimed. Q4 - How much Value Addition is required to be maintained? - A minimum of 15% value addition is required to be maintained - It can be less than 15 % for items mentioned in Appendix 4D - For specific cases such as Tea it is 50% - For Gems and Jewellery kindly refer Chapter 4 of FTP & HBP You can also check our guide & FAQs by going to the DGFT Portal->Learn->Application Help & FAQs for more Information.

Why there is no uploading option of import details?? I have 1257 import items which consumes our productivity if updated individually over website. For export products there is uploading option; however, typically, import products will always high.
