Great video!!! I was wondering on ceilings if possible to move lights and fan, patch with holes with half inch and then cover it all up with new 3/8s drywall?

Yes, absolutely 👍 I used to do that myself. But have found it easier to reroute things with it all down. I really don’t like crawling in attic spaces for anything 😆

I found a tool at Home Depot called the wrecking claw, I used to tear up my tile and sub floor, (my floor was basically the same as this floor except it had 3/4 in ply wood under the tile.). I think its main propose it tearing out deck boards. It made this job easy. Only 40 bucks or so and I sledged on it and this thing will not break. Just thought Id give an FYI for tearing out floors.

Awesome videos I’ve been using your channel for my bathroom remodel. One thing I struggle with is the removing of plaster and drywall with the metal mesh wire in the corners and ceiling what is the best way to remove it? I’m not tearing down my ceiling though.

It can be tough, especially the home built in the 30s. They used some tough stuff. I usually use a sawzall and cut corners. @@BathroomRemodelingTeacher my bathroom was redone in the 60s so it’s drywall then plaster over that really thick stuff. What blade do you recommend I used a dewalt wood and metal and it just destroyed the teeth. Thanks for the reply and keep up the good work!

@@gubslosh9521 was going to mention that. I’ll go through 2-3 blades. I haven’t found too many that withstand it. It’s like cutting through concrete sometimes 😆 the axe blades are nice by Milwaukee but I like the thinner blades like Lennox amzn.to/3UmiyuQ

Use a Sawzall with carbide tipped teeth. My favorite brand is Lenox blades. They are about 10 bucks a blade but cut the metal lath in the corners with the Sawzall and it'll make the rest of the demo much easier.

I find it much harder to peel up. But there are situations where it works well. Many power tools for things like this seem easier but are not. A roofing shovel can work well too 👍

Thoughts on doing a video using HardieBacker with HydroDefense? It's fairly new and haven't seen any videos about it.

To be honest, hardibacker is my least favorite backer board. Hard to cut (dusty) and absorbs anything like nothing else. I like hydrodefense. Longer dry time than huydroban, but works well. I’d go with cement board if your going that route. I’ll have one out someday with hydroban 👍

Depending on the age of that old tub it may have been woth some money. They don't make tubs like they use to.

I actually still have one with the big curved bump out that I plan to refinish 👍 these ones are not anything too special
