Die BBÖ 1100 und BBÖ 1100.1 waren elektrische Schnellzug-Lokomotiven in Krokodil-Bauform aus der Zwischenkriegszeit in Diensten der Österreichischen Bundesbahnen (seinerzeit BBÖ). Die ersten Exemplare wurden 1923/24 in Dienst gestellt. Nach dem Anschluss Österreichs im Jahre 1938 bezeichnete die Deutsche Reichsbahn sie als E 89 (1100) sowie als E 89.1 (1100.1). Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg kamen die verbliebenen Maschinen als ÖBB 1089 und ÖBB 1189 zu den wiederbegründeten Österreichischen Bundesbahnen (ÖBB), die sie erst im Jahre 1979 vollständig ausmusterten.

Tolle Aufnahmen von einer faszinierende Lok. Die Hintergrundmusik allerdings ist extrem nervtötend und m.M.n in total fehl am Platz, weil einfach zu sehr im Vordergrund stehend. Die Fahrgeräusche der Lok werden durch das nervige "Geklimper" in den Hintergrund verbannt. Aber genau die will ich hören! Schade, schade! Leider kommt diese DVD deshalb nicht in meine Sammlung!

So first of all, the Austrian Federal Railway (ÖBB) no longer has any historic vehicles. Today these all belong either to private institutions or to the Austrian Railway Museum, which is part of the Vienna Technical Museum. Of the “crocodiles” or “tatzel worms”, as the ÖBB series 1089 and 1189 are called, there are still 1089.06 (Vehicle and Technology Museum Sinnsheim Germany) 1189.02 (alias 1100.102 ÖGEG Ampflwang) 1189.05 (ÖEM, in Strasshof) which are complete, whereby the 05 has engine damage and 1089.06 has no track connection. The 02 should be able to run again soon. 1189.09 served as a memorial for a long time, is no longer complete because it served as a spare parts donor and is now on loan from the ÖGEG in Ampflwang. Series 1670 and its predecessors of series 1570 still exist: 1570.01 (Memorial locomotive in TMW Vienna) 1670.09 (ÖGEG Salzburg operational) 1670.21 (Only incomplete preheating system for wagon trains, ÖBB Knittelfeld) 1670.25 (Austrovapor Strasshof, should be operational) and 1670.104 (HEB in Bludenz, this should also still be allowed to drive…)
