How about Japan as another option? It's pretty unique in that it has a democracy but it's almost oligarchic with basically one ruling party. It also has serious issues facing it including an aging population and a negative cash rate because their economy has basically stalled post-economic miracle. It would, I dare say, be more interesting than South Korea for the sort of modelling this game does best.

I would definitely like to add japan at some point, although I'm well overdue on adding some local flavor to existing countries before adding many more.

Glad to hear it may be on the list. Very willing to be patient, especially since yes, experience making existing countries more unique will just do an even better job making Japan and other countries debut in a better and more unique state.

I am biased. Being swedish I would ofc love to get Sweden added to the game but I can agree that Japan would be a very interesting nation to play.

Can you make it so that when a policy affects less people it costs less political capital. For example when you have zero alcohol usage changing the tax should be pretty easy.

About death penalty. .. it exists BUT we don't use it anymore and even those that receive it mostly spend their life in jail... so whenever serious crime happens people would call for enforcement of death penalty and complain that our laws are too weak.
@positechgames3 жыл бұрын
Yup, thats why its set to active in the game, but also set pretty low. Thats the only way to really represent that quirk of it being 'on the books' but in practice not used.

It would be nice if the East Asian minister art could appear in the western countries and vice-versa, even if they are less common. It might be far too complicated but this could even be linked to racial tension and % ethnic minorities.

A bit of research shows that TECHNICALLY Korea still has a royal family, although there is very little mention of them now. Is it the case that they are entirely ignored? I can easily change it, but want to be accurate :D

The biggest improvement that we need is some kind of tweak to the immigration system so that you can actually drop immigration and illegal immigration to zero. I’d recommend a three level immigration slider 1. “Immigrants.” 2 “Asylum Seekers.” And 3 “Economic Migrants.” And finally a just blanket illegal immigrates slider. Also for a final odd nation to add I’d recommend Iraq or Syria hell even Iran if ya wanna be really ballzy.”

Corea is so cool! Also, I think Italy could be an occasion for the game to have more difficult countries, with the mafia, the Nord-South division (this could be interesting as a specific situation because the government tries to develop a poor south and the rich north pays)... It would be very important to make Italy diffult and in depth as the other countries are not very hard, especially Spain which I was surprised about because of the lack of the enormous uneployment and economic and independist crisis.

Looks great, very glad to see areas beyond Western Europe + Australia and North America represented. Really hoping to see lots of events for Korea regarding difficulties dealing with neighbors beyond North Korea (such as dealing with constant confrontation with Japan, and especially as patriotism increases, making it harder for the voting base to settle with compromises). Also hoping for Japan at some point in the game, which also provides a lot of unique challenges.

Cliff, are you planning on fixing the UI sizes? D4's UI is extremely small on a 3840 x 2160 laptop resolution. In D3 it was perfect, but here, I have to squint my eyes. Changing the game's resolution doesn't help either because it either creates black bars (without increasing the UI size) or creates little squares at the top of the screen.
@positechgames3 жыл бұрын
its dramatically harder than it sounds I'm afraid, although there may be a real klunky fix we can do with effectively stretching the whole game. I added this to the voting screen but its was like 2% of users selected it as a priority :(

Really happy to see South Korea added! Think it adds a really nice spin to it. Have some feedback though. When you look at Electioneering->Parties 7:25 or the Compass 7:40, I still don’t think it looks good enough. The fact that NO ONE is fanatically opposed to you is completely unrealistic. Looking at any election, or any KZbin video’s like/dislike ratio for that matter, there will ALWAYS be someone in opposition, going against the stream or likewise. I really, really think that they should be spread out. Some should be opposed and winning an election with 100% of votes should be an impossibility. The mere fact that someone is really popular will bring people against him/her. Secondly, the fact that everyone is spread out into a box INSIDE the political compass box still looks like a bug to me. Again, completely unrealistic but also kind of defeats the whole purpose of the compass anyway. Saying how there isn’t a single voter in South Korea aligned with Donald Trump is slightly absurd. I really think that the box should be ditched and they should actually spread out over the entire compass, instead of moving like a hivemind.

This is true, I do need to make that less fixed. Its just a matter of tracking down the exact variables doing that, but I do intend to do so

Love seeing how this game keeps getting better, I'm glad I bought it a while ago. Btw I think if you play a country without censoring anything, you shouldn't get over 70% approval, seems unrealistic.
