Nothing wrong with that. Anti-Socialism rhetoric (read propaganda) started in the 20's to encourage greed based Capitalism. Karl Marx wrote of the big downside of Capitalism and he was right.

No matter what, I will always be grateful to Senator Sanders. For shining a light on the corporatists running our government so that more people are awakened. For marching on the picket lines with working people. For continuing to fight for what's right, even when it's politically difficult. For fighting on the side of the water protectors in Standing Rock. All while combing his hair with a balloon, lol. Much love and many blessings to Bernie and to Jane. They are both a force to be reckoned with, and I suspect they are far from finished fighting. ♡

Kevin Alonso Agreed, brother. I've been "Feeling the Bern" for about a decade now, thanks to Thom Hartmann's weekly "Brunch with Bernie" segment. When he announced his run for president last year, I was overjoyed. His principles today are the same as they were then, and even decades before. Few people in this country work harder than Bernie and Jane Sanders.

Well seeing how most people vote one party down the ticket, if Hillary or Bernie would've won, they probably would've regained the Senate. So it could be argued they'd be able to at least get some things done. Very little though and that goes for Hillary as well. She wouldn't have been able to get anything she wanted done either, especially with a Republican controlled house and by Republican House I mean far right teabaggers who have noone to answer to but their ignorant right wing voters in their districts which they've gerrymandered in their favor as an undemocratic power grab. Bernie wouldn't have got things done and neither would've Hillary. Both would've been lame duck presidents just as Obama has been since Democrats lost control of congress back in 2010.
@CampingforCool41
@CampingforCool41 7 жыл бұрын
TheRickyp83 Bernie knows how to do one thing that Obama should've known, but never did. Bernie knows that Congress won't do what the people want unless the people send a clear message that they will not be reelected if they don't do what they the people want. He knows how to rally people around ideas. In other words, he knows how to use his leverage.
@TheRickyp83
@TheRickyp83 7 жыл бұрын
CampingforCool41 Yeah that sounds great and it's pretty true as far as Senators go since they have to answer to a whole state so there's a diverse crowd they represent. However that's not the case at all with a House that's controlled by gerrymandered districts across the country. Now what does that mean, it means those congresspeople don't have to answer to noone but the voters in the district's which they've drawn out where they live that benefits them. It's why we have a Congress with the lowest approval ratings in history and yet the vast majority of them got reelected. Take for example Austin TX. it's the most liberal city in the south yet 3 out of 4 of their representatives are conservative Republicans. How does that happen? It ain't that southern liberals are voting for Republicans. It's because they've "rigged" their elections in a sense. If you don't know what gerrymandering is then Google it. We could have a billion people March on Washington and House Republicans wouldn't have to blink an eye. They don't answer to random protestors in Washington, they answer to voters in their districts and the districts they've drawn out are totally in their favor.
@CampingforCool41
@CampingforCool41 7 жыл бұрын
"They don't answer to random protestors in Washington, they answer to voters in their districts and the districts they've drawn out are totally in their favor." I wasn't saying that they'd respond to random protestors. Of course the only thing that matters is who is in their district, and that is exactly how Bernie could've used his leverage. TheRickyp83

snowsandrivers blackfyrestorm I agree with Travis, and im on the Left. What good is electing a woman, a muslim, or an African America if they aren't helping us all move forward? And there doesn't necessarily have to be a woman in office, or a black person in office, to improve the situation of blacks and women. We should never focus on anyone skin color or gender. I'm not saying we should pretend to be color blind like many people on the Right claim they are. All I'm saying is, someone like Bernie Sanders (an old Jew from Vermont), would most likely help the situation of black people more than Obama. He would also most likely improve the situation of women, more than Hillary Clinton, despite the fact that he is not a woman. Ideas are so much more important than a person's "identity".

Tasheem Hargrove >What good is electing a woman, a muslim, or an African America if they aren't helping us all move forward? To some extent, I agree. It's only good in that it demonstrates that doors can be opened. >And there doesn't necessarily have to be a woman in office, or a black person in office, to improve the situation of blacks and women. Yep. I agree with that too. But it clearly demonstrates that certain attitudes in the country are at least SLIGHTLY diminished. Yes, I agree. All I'm saying is that the fact that a person of color can breach these lines says something good about our society,
@sinshoe5870
@sinshoe5870 7 жыл бұрын
This is why identity politics is such a dangerous thing... liberals are hoodwinked into focusing too hard on quantitative representation of identities in various spheres of public office and mediums (remember Bernie's America ad which had only two Iowa black people in it... gasp!) rather than the qualitative representation of The People (and I mean all of us... black, white, and in between, male, female, gay, straight, etc.). While we are fighting amongst ourselves, they (the ruling class and their pawns) are effectively ruling over us with economic dominance. If all of those republicans were making decent money and living happy lives, they may find themselves in too good of a mood to be bigots and scapegoat their fellow citizens. If people coming from poverty had realistic opportunity, you might find them leaving welfare for a more earnest living filled with the pride of one's own success. If people weren't struggling so hard to make ends meet, may they would have a better mental state, there would be less people in jail, and family values could be enhanced by the fact that the family actually gets to spend time together. Imagine that. Identity politics is a system of divide and conquer. The ruler (donors) of both parties have a vested interest in keeping politics focused in this arena and that is why you see it so much in the media.
@sinshoe5870
@sinshoe5870 7 жыл бұрын
+snowsandrivers blackfyrestorm no what it says is the ruling class trusts that person with their investments enough to allow them to campaign for high office without impediment. Getting a woman like Hillary elected does nothing at all and in fact can be a negative by the false sense of progress it provides. It is not enough to be a woman or a person of color. That is not the criterion by which we should be judging. The sole judgment is should be based upon whether or not they uphold the constitution and represent the people and by that I mean the people en masse which naturally is dominated by the middle and lower classes. If the people who meet those qualifications, then a quantitative representation of minority identities is icing on the cake. The cake needs to he good in the inside first; otherwise it's just liberal lipstick on a pig.

Bernie is correct again. I supported more of Hillary's policies, but supported Trump. Hillary is disgusting and criminal, Trump was less so, in time he may be worse. Hopefully in 4 years there will be better choices, however it is highly doubtfull since the 2 US parties are basically the same, support the rich. The 2 parties pick who will represent them, the citizens of the USA do not choose, hence the people are given one bad choice after another. There are enough resources to support everyone equitably, some though just want more.
