At the age of 11, even though I had no girl friend, I could not visualize living the rest of my life without intimate connection with the opposite sex. I thought that if God wanted me to serve him as a priest, I would not have desire for sex. I said NO, and I am grateful I have always been able to be authentic to my convictions. Now as an adult, I may be a sinner, but I will never be a hypocrite. I worship God according to convictions not rooted in false religious or political authorities. No, I am not gonna be a hypocrite.

While it would be a good thing for the church to allow women to be ordained as priests and priests to marry, that alone is not enough to make a real change. The occupation itself does not turn them into the predator. But predators have and will continue to gravitate towards any social situation of privledge where they are allowed to work with children and be morally unquestioned. This is why you find so many predators in positions such as coaching, baby sitting, boy scout troop leader, etc. Any time you create a situation where people have access to children unfettered you will have this problem. The documented number of Catholic priests who sexually abused children is 300. We don't really know the scale of this issue. Clearly it's much larger than that. When you look at the resources it took to get to the truth is simply astounding (Kudos to the investigative team at the Boston Globe!) The church stonewalled the legal process seeking justice for the victims at every step. The church isn't making it easy and continues to not make it easy. They've apologized and said how terrible it is, but they never say that until after they're caught! Which tells me, they aren't really taking responsibility for their actions, nor are they really sorry for harming the victims. Instead they are merely sorry they got caught. Which is quite typical behavior for sex offenders. This problem is clearly systemic at every level of the church and will not go away with a few lawsuits and a forgiveness mass. It took 2000 years for the church to get to this point. And the crimes of the church run very deep. I'm afraid it's not going to go away. But they may become better at hiding it.

One important way to make people understand how bad sexual abuse to children is, is is to talk of what happens to the children as grown up. Higher porcentage of suicides amoung once abused people: So suicide for trauma not because you lose faith in God: That changes Christian ideas. People who went out and lived on the street before they were twenty. Substance abuse being much higher than among people who were not abused as children, so substance abuse because of trauma in childhood not because the person is vicious- Another big change in christian ideas should be put into place. Bad spiritual development in adult life as they feel so bad about the adult not helping them not stopping the abuse, that they have lost faith in people. Prostitution their children who have been abuses boundaries havign been destroyed.

The result is that I think that the Christian fathers have a very big say in what prelates and the cupula of the Church thinks and I am appalled by what the Christian Fathers teach. . Saint Paul says that heretics go to hell. I loved Jesus for the story of the Good Samaritan, I thought when I heard it as a child, that is great., he says that the good man goes to heaven no matter what his faith. That stops a lot of wars. Jesus also asked God to forgive the Roman soldiers who were crucifying him. The Romans were heretics by Christian and Jewish standards, his attitude to heretics was to want them to go to heaven or so it seems to me but Sain Paul says that heretics go to hell, which is so evil and stupid, it is so sure to start murder and wars. Also evil is Paul´s suggesting that men should get married so as to have Church approved sex: Men dont seem to think they have any marriage duties, such as reducing their wifes verbal lonliness or worries, boring or interesting as that wife be, beyond laying her. Saint Jerome said that heretic should be killed. The Church says Catholics are better than Islamists because Islamist have Yihads: what cheek. We are the religion of love, with any luck, if you follow Jesus but if you follow Saint Jerome then we will and the fact is that we have, killed heretics and christianising is a big part of coloniising countries. We frequyently kill whole Jewish families! Granies and children and parents too, Saint Augunstine in ¨The Citidel of God¨, said that if an evil could be stopped with violence it would be a sin not to use it . He also is a reason, as is Saint Jerome and Saint Paul, for the Unholy Inquisition which, Iused to imagine, was a sort of big departure from Christiantiy but know know was the inevitable result of the ideas of the Christian fathers. I used to think that Catholic men did not discuss things with a woman like me but I ended up thinking on meeting Catholic militants, that they dont themselves talk about things: Everything is seems to be , with them, a question of faith and they dont dare to discuss ideas in the Church and sometimes new ideas get into the church , In a reaction to Buddhism I think, they decided that temperance was a bad idea, I decided that the men in the church were not talking about it beween themselves- They take a big pass on academic disciplines and also seem to dispaprove of Academic disciplines for others, for hre faithful. The cahtolic Nuns who taught me were excelent academics and I wonder what thas happened to the Church since the sixties. People like Maciel Marcil and the hed of the opus dei not a famous Spanish intellectual perhaps.

Catholic Church schools in the 70's separated & streamed the brightest children into groups. They were then politically educated into even smaller groups. After completing their education (some Cambridge graduates) these individuals were then placed in posts advantageous to information gathering. One example involved placements in the British police force. They informed on planned raids at Liverpool docks for guns which would supply the IRA. The Catholic Church played a central role both in supporting the IRA. Right or wrong the Catholic Church is a rich & powerful entity that is a law unto itself. It's crimes are vast. Protecting paedophiles against the innocence of children is just one of its failures. God has little to do with it's actions. It's evil to the core.

Not a Catholic, but think the answer is an end of celibacy in the Catholic Faith more than female leadership in the Church. This story talks mainly of abuse of children by Priests but I did not hear mention of abuse of children by Nuns, such as the Poor Sisters of Nazareth in Scotland and Sisters of Mercy in Ireland. Good character, not a matter simply of gender, should be the standard.

Actually it comes from the Church believing that Paul was an Apostle. He wasn’t. The writings of Paul contradict the teachings of Christ. Paul was known as the anti-Christ. Hopefully the Catholic Church can correct this oversight. By including Paul for political reasons the Catholic Church ensured that the seeds of it’s destruction were sown deeply.
