The fact that they waited until the last minute to unveil the bill was not negligence. It was by design. They knew that Congress would not have time to read the whole thing and that members would be anxious to get home for the holidays. A lame duck Congress had never passed a spending bill before, but they pulled it off this time with the help from 18 republican senators. It shows what they think of the American people.

I was a republican since Nixon. I did vote for Carter the 1st time (because he said he was a born-again Christian) but that was a big mistake (he supported the left agenda), and I voted then for Reagan. I've been a republican and supported republicans ever since, and stood often at the voting areas handing out leaflets. At the passing of this bill, I am now an independent. The republican leadership didn't support Trump, and did not protest the fraudulent election, or demand election audits that were essential. They worked against republican candidates that Trump supported. They then re-elected McConnell as their leader. They then worked with the democrats to pass this horrible spending pork bill, in order to keep the new republican house from having a say in the new budget (all because they hate Trump, and because they want the pork). I am ferociously angry with the republican leadership. I will no longer support the republican party. I will support individual candidates who support the constitution, and free, non-fraudulent elections with voter id, and a balanced budget.

Even though he doubled the federal government debt, Obama wanted to spend even than what Congress would approve. Thankfully, Congress didn't give Obama all he wanted, especially when Republicans controlled Congress. Trump tried to reduce of some of Obama's wasteful spending programs, but Congress wasn't interested. The worst deficits under Trump were in 2019 and in 2020 when Democrats controlled Congress and wrote the federal budgets.

This bill was designed so the House of Representatives isn't necessary until Sept. 2023 when the next budget proposals are due. The entire congress could all go on vacation for the next 8 months because everything is funded so the new Congress isn't necessary.
