But he's not a democratic socialist (left of center, promoting a socialist economy as the dominant one) as stated. He's a social democrat (right of center, still promoting a capitalist economy as the dominant one, but well regulated instead of the runaway train currently in effect). There is nothing in his policies that suggests he supports a social ownership of the means of production, and a desire to head into a hardcore socialist economy. Improving union bargaining and a strong welfare state (like a big part of the capitalist world) *STILL* allows for capitalism to be the dominant economy. Also, no actual socialist economy ever survived completely on its own, but was (even more) infected with corruption. Hell, even Vietnam - a highly socialist economy - now allows more and more capitalist forces to allow their economy to improve, which it does. Not exactly capitalist yet, but... If Bernie is left of the rest of the squad/progressives, he's still right of actual center dividing the two economy forms. Even if Biden has shifted a bit to the left, he still remain in the hard right camp, even if not as corporate as he once was.
