Cool, man! I had heard of compression before. I think someone may have explained it by thinking of the waveform & those peaks being smashed (or compressed) down to keep it at an even level. I know some folks should consider doing that on their videos when some parts go loud for no good reason (usually intro/outro music).

KZbin tries to normalize (think post processing compression) but if your video is way out of whack, it goes wonky. Especially people with power tools and stuff
