What a prominent place that house played, certainly in Fairfield's history. Such a shame that it was demolished!

The barn and house were demolished so that the Marsh Lake Park parking lot could be enlarged. The City decided that property values were more important than history. Sort of a “Who cares how we got here if we can make a buck while we are here.” attitude. That is why they allowed the extension of Mack Road to Route 4 thirty years ago which destroyed one of the very few stands of virgin forest left in Southwestern Ohio. I would like to hear more from Wayne Green about slaves at the Cooper Farm. Especially if he has any credible sources for his claims other than someone’s imagination.

Are you responsible for the past, for what people that are now dead did long ago? The house had nothing to do with good or bad.. its just an inanimate place.

A slave house built in 1825 in Ohio by an immigrant? Not likely.
