What are the perks of welding the seams ?

Mostly it makes the frame bend, instead of splitting and breaking apart.

@DemolitionMissions Ya. My old 110 die a few times. But now I have 250 amp Hobart. It will burn holes in 1/4 steel!

@EzyRyder707 We are allowed full seam welding. But I was asked to do this video. Because some officials could not spot welded frames at another small derby. If you have never seen a derby car I guess maybe that could be hard. I don't know I weld for a living and know how to tell.

we always weld some obvious plate on the frame then beg the inspectors to let us cut it off, meanwhile they miss the rest of the cheats.

Shhh now they know our secrets.. lol. No, I've never done this to any of my cars. I like to build mine as legit to the rules as I can. My little 110v welder would die trying to weld everything you did.

What kind of welder do you use? I’m trying to find a good welder I can use for a roll cage and everything else in between.

I have a Hobart welder. Very simple non digital. It can weld 1/2 inch no problem.

I was an official one year at our derby, pissed of a lot of people because I spotted every little thing... Even caught stuff after the heats on cars I didn't tech. Since then our derby has been alot better.

I never see Caddys do well since I was little most of the Caddys I have seen don't have the power and they seem to go straight to the ground Impala New Yorkers and lincolns are my favorites I mean new ports do good too but there's mostly 90s cars now it kind of sucks I miss the old cars but any car can be strong and do good you gotta pre bend notch it and weld it in the right place I personally can't weld worth shit my cousin is great at it though he has a degree or some shit to do it
