As someone who bought a foreclosed house and did a lot of renovating, the best advice I can give is go to the hardware store or somewhere that sells work gloves and find a good pair that fits properly. It is harder to find a well fitting pair when you have small hands, so you want to try them on. Everything is so much easier with the proper equipment. Also, knee pads for crawling are helpful and having more than one step ladder. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

The ultimate prank is to staple carpet to hardwood floors before you die

Looove John getting RIGHT to work immediately after the last video closed out. Our boy said this foam trim has got to GO 😤😤💪🏼 Edit: the gasp i gusp when the carpet underlayer came up and I saw those hardwooooods!!! So beautiful wow. Eager to see them restored!!

Wow, those wood floors are killer!! even if you just cleaned them up, that's a huge improvement. i also hate getting dirty, but having a few sets of cheap ugly comfy work clothes (plus shoes!) makes doing projects a lot easier for me. i put on my work clothes and focus on what i'm doing rather than worrying about messing up my clothes.

I assume you guys are aware (as you've mentioned it before), but please be safe and keep in mind that these old homes may have asbestos lurking in lots of places. Make sure you test stuff, wear masks and be careful. It's a small inconvenience compared to the health issues you might suffer by not being careful.

I know I’m going to be obsessed with this series 😍 Me and my partner are currently renovating a house and the best advice I can give is to focus on one room at a time!

Dang, your man said “no better time than RIGHT THIS SECOND!!!” 😂 You being an apprentice reminds me of how my cat is an apprentice, LOL! I’m excited for you two, and the future little family you’ll have an opportunity to build here in whatever way you desire that to look like ❤

I built a tiny house in 2020 (with help of course) and I really wished I had documented the progress, but I was also massively depressed and it was helpful to keep busy and not think too much. What can you do! You inspire me.

You guys should talk to Chris Hytha - I've been enjoying his series about renovating a very old row home in Philly. He's an artist and architect, and he recently got a general contracting license to be more in control of his own project. It's so satisfying to see carpet and other late-20th century weirdness ripped out of an older house.

Girlfriend you need tools of your very own. A hammer, staple puller, muti head screwdriver, side cutter, good pair of gloves, your own tool belt or work apron, safety glasses. The wallpaper underneath the paneling may need to be streamed off. The other wallpaper that was painted came off beautifully. I look forward to more videos.
@jomarch164518 сағат бұрын
Wallpaper behind paneling is evil (at least it seems easy to rip off)
