Omg the deep V shirt and the heathered racer bank tanksssss... I literally still have 3 of those tanks including a heathered gray one that has holes all over it but y'all can pry it from my cold dead hands. Nothing compares to those old tops. I only have a heathered gray deep V left, I got rid of my grape one lmao

Oh man the American Apparel throwback! I'm wearing a 9+ year old french terry sweatshirt from them rn and you're so right about how their stuff usually holds up. The conversations I had way back then about american apparel and sustainability, labour, advertising, and body politics really pushed me in the direction I'm on now prioritizing slow fashion, union labour, and accessibility+inclusivity. I definitely remember a few times back in the day I would buy something there (usually on sale) and bring it home only to have my seamstress mom turn it inside out, judge the loose threads and messy seams and give me heck for spending too much money on it. Ime there was always a bit of inconsistency of manufacturing standards but i still have a lot of rock solid stuff from there kicking around a decade later

I also used to be obsessed with American Apparel, and a couple years back bought two pairs of the Los Angeles Apparel cotton shorts. I wear them every summer and they are SO comfy!!! Hands down way better than wearing Jean shorts

so fun watching this as I wear my AA shirt I've had since 2009 lol. I have tried throwing it away for so many years but it still fits and even through it's black and has been washed hundreds of times, it still is black, which is insane! black clothes fade so quickly. it sucks that we will never have the old AA quality anymore. wish I had bought more things when I had the chance. all I have left is a tshirt and the tote bags lol. great video, I've always been curious about this brand.

I'm so glad you did this video! I have a loved one who loved hits old American apparel hoodie from back in the day so I bought him a Los Angeles apparel one for his birthday and I put some other stuff in the cart to get free shipping. I agree the thong was tiny with minimal stretch. I bought those socks too and they're cute, but a hole appeared pretty quickly with only 1 or 2 wears :(. I would still buy from them again but I don't think I'd get intimates or socks again.
