Demolition of a Starcraft (American-16)

The Starcraft is gone...
I ended up cutting up and disposing of the 1975 Starcraft American-16 last year. Finally got around to editing together a short video of its final days. Sure wish I had the money to have restored the boat but this vessel needed a lot of work.
I saved every usable part off this boat.
I did intend on using the 1985 Johnson 115 V4 on my 1966 Starcraft Jupiter but unfortunately it lost power on its initial test run. After running a compression test it turned out to have lost compression on the bottom right cylinder. Only had 80psi on that cylinder and over 100psi on the other 3 cylinders. The future of the Johnson 115 is unclear at this time.
This isn't a very good video. I was just walking around rambling on and repeating myself over and over again and again. Sorry for that.

Hey Man Ive been thinking next time you decide ti haul off a boat to the dump I think instead of cutting it up you should take it to a lake and start shooting it untill it sinks that would make a great video

If I had access to a private lake it would be fun. But content like that is sometimes risky on KZbin. I would have to make a video of cleaning all the debris up so the environmentalist don't think I would leave all the trash fiberglass in the water. And with firearms in the video it would likely be demonetized after anti-gun viewers flag it. who are you kidding, wow, that fiberglass was thin. i know we had to cut a boat when I worked at regulator, cant tell you how bany blades we went through or how much foam we had in those boats. another point of intrest is when the top wanted to seperate after you removed the trim, we used a puty resin blend, there was no gap. glad you made quick work of it, but the thin fibergass would make me wonder how I trusted it to float in the first place, lol

So sorry to see the death of your starcraft 16. I opted to restore mine instead. I was such a fun little boat with a big motor on it that I went for it. Took a month start to finish. I ended up with a solid little boat that does 50 mph and catches lots of fish. Anyways, did you keep any parts from your boat? Specifically the windows, window frames, and the bow bars?

+FaceDeAce I wanted to restore it but after discovering how rotten the floor, stringers, transom were and all the cracks in the hull then finding that 1966 Starcraft Jupiter for a good price, I kind of gave up on the American-16. I was surprised how thin the hull was. I gave away the bow rails. Still have the complete windshield.

+JeepCollector91 Ok ,well keep an eye on my handle in a wee k or two. I will look at putting together a video that shows my restoration. It wasn't that bad. 2 1/2 weeks of evenings and weekends - and about 1600$ for everything. I considered getting another boat instead, but figured it would just be the same thing with unknowns. This one I knew what it had and what it needed, so just got 'er done.

+dally b Hopefully one day. I had a few more videos for the '66 Jupiter all edited and ready for upload but my computer managed to lose it all during an update. I still have all the footage but haven't had the time to try putting it all back into a good video worth uploading. I am behind on many projects and the videos to go with them. Sorry for that. The Jupiter did good on the last test run with the 115 Evinrude but it has been sitting under the carport for over a year now waiting for a more fuel efficient and emissions compliant outboard. This season I am using my 2005 Alumacraft 1436-LT with the 2012 Mercury 6hp.

If the hull isn't corroded too bad, it should sell pretty fast. I'm actually planning to sell my '66 Starcraft Jupiter next year since I have too many projects going on.
