1:47 Interesting... The Pillboxes closest to the blast took the least damage. Were it an airburst nuke, the damage would've made sense because targets closer to ground zero of an airburst would suffer less overpressure because the shockwave hadn't converged into the Mach-Y Stem (for example, the Atomic Dome in Hiroshima was under the fireball when Little Boy detonated and was left standing)). But it still doesn't make sense because it detonated on the ground.

In skirmish, RA1 demo truck is kinda weak, just as weak as the RA1 nuke. The demo truck in campaign is more destructive. Or maybe the buildings are weaker. I dunno. I always thought it was one or the other. At least for skirmish, I'd rather use an M.A.D. tank. You just need three to destroy an enemy base. Kinda fun 😄

it's both actually. Several events are pre-scripted in RA 1 so that if you do something, it just happens regardless of damage percentage. Others you end up having to painfully slug your way through the grind of getting the right thing to happen, like the map where you have to survive a wave of indestructible mammoth tanks that are called MAD prototypes or something like that and they have battleship range.

I still miss the old building destruction sound and tank explosion sound on some of them (mammoth and artillery). It’s so much better than the remastered version sound.

Mammoth Tank's explosion in RA remastered sound is still the same.. also its rockets also sound the same as Mammoth's explosion in RA remastered

You may count on the deaths, but in RA2, you forgot to count in the number of conscripts' injuries as well, and RA2 has more of them.

I never got the idea why Demo Trucks in the Red Alert games barely tickle tanks, while the GLA Bomb Truck can oneshot even Overlord Tanks provided they have the HE bomb upgrade (even if they don't, they can still one-hit kill composite armor Crusaders).

So RA2 is better at something....and it is for a suicide unit as in, the thing you may only use when you are ultimately bored or something. Although the chain reaction is better for RA1...when you can actually see something it's like judgement day.

Lol RA2 is better at a lot of this. Infantry being atleast one of those, but then there is also the fact that RA2 isn't just a light/medium or Heavy tanks game
