You guys are my favorite band, and have been since high school (I've been listening to your music since around 2015). I can't get over your songs. I've listened to pretty much every one I can find, and I don't think I could ever stop listening. Not only is your music good, but I believe it glorifies God, and I think as long as you continue to seek to glorify Him, your music will continue to do so as well. I'll never forget the first time I ever heard the first track, screams of the undead, and I was like "yeah this is cool; there aren't a lot of bands that sound quite like this"... Here, almost 20 years later, they've put out all these albums, and they're all amazing. I never ever would have guessed Demon Hunter of all bands would be such a big deal to me now, the reason for which is mainly because I love the Lord, and their music was catalystic in my conversion about a year and a half ago, but also that the music is so incredibly well played!

At least it’ll be a double album, though. Demon Hunter is truly one of the greatest metal bands of all time. I am constantly in awe of their ability to refine their music and remain relevant and modern, while retaining a distinctly "them" sound, in every album they make. Like, this stuff sounds NOTHING like, say, Triptych, or The World is a Thorn, but it still sounds like Demon Hunter, and it sounds super modern and awesome. Most bands that have this many albums over this many years had a peak and 1.) continue to try and remain relevant but can't, OR 2.) do what they always did and sound more and more outdated. Demon Hunter weaves through the metal trends with a deft hand. And every album is an evolutionary step over the previous. It's never a drastic change, but rather a noticeable refinement in tone and musicality.

My interpretation of the lyrics (and roughly from what Ryan said in an interview): "I followed you down the abyss I never thought we could be so misguided There’s nothing so hollow as this There’s nothing so bitter as our divided souls" -We live in a world full of false promises and lies. Fake approval, fake happiness. People put on fake versions of themselves on social media for vanity's sake. We're divided by everything. So close yet so far from each other. The abyss is everything void and insincere. It's all hollow. "Sounding your desperate tone All of your meaningless cries How will I sleep until all this dies? All of this dies" -You're sick of all the chaos, the despair, the tragedy, the empty words and promises, all the pride and vanity, everything that's empty. So you cry out but it feels like nobody's listening, like it won't change anything. How can you feel at peace when the world is screaming all around you? "You rise and you follow the sound You wonder how all of your dreams come falling down" -Sometimes you try to be like everyone else. You try to do what they do in hopes it brings you some satisfaction. But still your soul thirsts for something deeper. You wonder how the world got to such a point that you're hopeless of ever having what your heart really desires. "How do I silence the world? How do I live through the noise? This one's been on repeat all week for me. I got the news this week that I'll never be able to father my own children. And I know that's not why this song was written, but the words and the melody is a match to my feelings of finding out this news. I know there are other ways of becoming a daddy, but right now I'm in a feeling of grief, and I don't want to hear the other options. Regardless, Demon Hunter, I am very happy to come across this band a couple years ago. Thank you guys for bringing this song into the world. Keep up the good work and God bless.
