If you do not kill Yurt, he will start killing NPCs in the Nexus after every boss you kill. The important ones he kills are basically all magic and miracle NPCs so if your build is around magic then it becomes a big deal because with them dead you cannot learn or attune magic or miracles for that game cycle. If your build is mainly Physical/Dex then I suppose it’s not overly important. After he kills a certain amount of NPCs he will stop and when you talk to him he reveals that he is Yurt, the silent chief and that his work is almost complete. He then turns hostile.

I might have found a bug. I killed Yurt right when I opened the cage, and got his armor. I got back to the Nexus from killing Old Monk, and Patches warned me that Yurt has infiltrated Boletaria. How is that possible when I killed him right next to his cage? I went to try to find Yurt in the Nexus at this location in this video just to make sure (as if me wearing his armor wasn’t enough to be sure) and obviously he wasn’t there. I also didn’t find the corpses. I reloaded Nexus multiple times to see if any dead bodies show up, and there were none. That Patches dialogue shouldn’t have happened then. Also, Yurt is basically the REAL Lautrec. Yurt was designed long before Lautrec, so I don’t know, it was either laziness that they tried to make him again for Dark Souls, or maybe an homage to Yurt. Regardless, Yurt is a complete maniac and wants to kill everyone in Boletaria. Kill him the moment you open the cage and get his armor. It looks so damn cool.

I don't think that was a bug. patches heard Yurt was around, but didn't hear about how you killed him. that's how I interpreted it.

So I just rescued him and completed the area. Gonna fight the boss soon but then saw I should have killed him. Went to the Nexus but he’s not there. When does he appear there?

Probably after you kill your next boss - I wouldn't worry about him that much, he doesn't kill anyone *that* important even if you forget to check and get him as soon as he appears...

I got to him in time it seems. I just let him out of the cage and I get in it and I'm like "Wait. Why am I not trapped? He tricked me!" Then I went to the nexus to get him before he did any damage. Love the armor set. Nice little goody there.

Why did they make everyone white in the original game? Racism? You realize white people weren’t the only race in medieval times right? This is a fantasy world and none of these characters are based on real people. Catwoman is black in the new Batman. If you have a problem with that, then yeah, you’re a racist. He’s literally the only black NPC in the game and you’re crying that he’s black? Is this the part where you admit to being trash after getting exposed?
