The Water Breathing style that Urokodaki teaches has many forms (kata), or “moves” as you said. In this episode, Tanjiro used the 4th form, “Striking Tide” (uchi-shio 打ち潮) to behead the first two demons, used the 2nd form, “Water Wheel” (mizu guruma 水車) to stop the extending arms of the Hands Demon in reaching the coward boy, and the 1st form, “Water Surface Slash” (minamogiri 水面斬り) to behead the Hands Demon.
