Fun fact: the boy who took care of Giyu during Final Selection was Murata, the Slayer that the Three Demon Slaying Amigos met on Mt. Natagumo back in season one.

When the wind blew over Giyu, and he felt the side of his cheek. Feeling the pain from the slap long ago. It was almost as if Sabito's ghost moved past Giyu and slapped him again. He lived with survivors guilt for years. Not realizing he became a powerful Hashria himself. Even developing his own 11th form of water breathing Dead Calm or Lull. Beautiful backstory. And a wonderful reaction! Thank you for being apart of the Demon Slayer journey!

We're used to seeing Tanjiro be the big brother (to his family, to Zenitsu and Inosuke, to Kotetsu), so seeing him be an annoying little brother to Giyu was so unexpected and hilarious. 🤣🤣

A note about Japanese language: When Tanjiro says, "I'm coming in", Giyu tries to convince himself that he said, "I'm leaving". While that sounds like hopeless wishful thinking on Giyu's part, it's not too far-fetched. In the original dialogue, Tanjiro says, "Hairi-masu" (pronounced "HIGH-ri-mass"). Giyu tells himself that it was "Kaeri-masu" (pronounced something like "KIGH-eh-ri-mass"). From a distance and through thick wooden doors, the two words sound quite similar, so it's actually possible that Giyu misheard him. Of course, it's just as possible that he heard Tanjiro just fine, and was just desperately hoping to be left alone.

Looking back on season 1 the first time Tanjiro met all the hashiras, Giyu stand alone a bit far from the others. He have this "leave me alone" & cold vibes, but now we know Giyu always feel he's unworthy and he's actually very sweet and kindhearted person. I agree with you... I think Giyu will get the mark in some crazy moment. After all, Giyu is the first hashira who appear in episode 1 DS and he save Tanjiro & Nezuko more than twice (even vouch for Nezuko if she attack human).

Sabito saved everyone in the mountain and after death, taught Tanjiro how to cleave boulder. Bro was hardcore.

Not only that, if he met the multiarm demon first he would've been able to beat it at that time. The only reason he failed was because after cutting the heads off so many demons saving everyone else, his blade dulled. However, he would never leave anyone behind.

great reaction. Nezuko put herself between Giyu and her brother to protect Tanjiro in the first episode. Giyu was also protected by his sister. maybe that s why he didn't kill her and protected them later.
