Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc... let's talk about it

Hey everyone! The much anticipated Infinity Castle arc creeps closer and closer.. and with the end of Hashira Training on the horizon in less than 5 weeks (I know, I know), we will finally have an answer for how they will be adapting this well-loved arc. Before we get confirmation, I wanted to make a video and discuss my predictions, pro's and con's, and final thoughts. I hope you all enjoy!

Are you sure that they will announce it right after hashira training arc? They might just drop a teaser where they say that Infinity castle is in production without specifically mentioning if it'll be movies or a season.

selfishly hoping it'll be a seasonal anime because the hashira training movie did NOT air in my country😭 will seriously travel to a different country just to watch it...

If infinity castle is a movie it will release a lot more places than the Hashira Training world tour did, since that was just a special!!

Yeah I literally 100% agree with all of your pros/cons. No OP/ED - This is probably the worst part for me, but it might actually be better this way. Each movie will probably have an insert song like Homura (they'd at least have to give us 1, right?) - so potentially 3 insert songs. And you know DAMN well they are going to re-air each movie in episodic format within a TV season after the movies finish airing. They could either do just one OP/ED for the entire season, or if it's in two-cours maybe two. But I actually think that each movie would have it's own separate OP/ED, since each movie would have it's own contained "arc." We're potentially looking at 9 songs for the arc which would just be amazing. Remember that each movie should be about one Mugen Train movie in length, and they gave us a separate OP/ED from LiSA for that one 6 (7) episode arc. I feel like many people undervalue the importance of OP/ED songs, but they really do an amazing job at setting the tone for the anime, evoke emotion, and form memories linking that time of your life with watching the show.. Just hearing the OP/ED will bring you back to experiencing the entire arc. They also just give feed me dopamine for a few weeks lol. Time - On one hand, it does kind of suck that we'd have to wait more, but it's also great that it lasts longer. So I'm really on both sides of the fence with this one. I am more on the side of a movie trilogy over an anime season though, especially considering I do think we'll get them broken up in seasons afterwards anyway. I'd be kind of disappointed with seasons, but only slightly, as I think the pros for movies vastly outweigh the cons. I think weekly is good for maintaining engagement over a longer period of time, but Kimetsu, just as an experience, shines when you're able to binge a lot of content all at once - especially in a movie theater. I think a hybrid model where Kimetsu is still released weekly, but each episode is a double-episode just like season premieres/finales, would be really good for the series too. I always see people love the double-length episodes and then feel like the Episode 2, 3, etc. were too short! I also think that, by the point they give us Infinity Castle, they might be giving us worldwide releases. Like Mugen Train was their test run, but now that they know that any Demon Slayer movie they release will be extremely successful (even the recap movies performed really well), I'm sure they'll make the effort into a same-time worldwide release - or at least REALLY close after Japan. Staff - Probably one of the biggest pros to the Movie Trilogy is overall better staff. Not only will they have more time per movie to perfect every cut since it's like 6 episodes/year, but they typically put their best staff on movie projects. I'm not gonna go into all the names because it gets very convoluted and it's more of an IYKYK kind of thing, but one general complaint among fans throughout S3 is that a lot of the Lead Director/Storyboarders for the season overall were not the best (It's still my favorite season so whatever lol. Though I do understand how some episodes were just not adapted with much care or imagination). And HTA so far is giving us names we've never seen & staff that people don't really like. But on a Ufotable movie? No way we aren't getting the BEST staff possible. Success - I know this isn't really important, but it is really important to me, so. I really love to see the series do extremely well. I love seeing high ratings, sales, public opinion, streams, rankings, numbers, etc. Assuming that each Infinity Castle movie can match Mugen Train's box office number, we're looking at a $2B movie franchise. Movies also just have a shit ton more marketing put towards them, and they always have much bigger effects on everything. Manga sales should finally revive, twitter will explode, engagement and searches at an all time high, etc. Overall, it will just be really healthy for the franchise. I also think that when they announce the Infinity Castle they'll release updated manga circulation numbers! (For reference, I say this literally every time there's an announcement). We've been at 150m since Feb 2021, JP only. I follow sales extensively and I can say with absolute certainty that KnY should be well over 200m copies worldwide, with some estimates bringing it even up to 230m. KnY is sure to become the best selling manga from a sales/volume standpoint. Also, side note about watching it in theaters: I never knew this and I'm so mad but PLEASE do not watch the future movies in just a standard theater! I go to AMC and they have like 3 tiers: Laser (Used to be Digital - effectively the same thing but "better" - eh), IMAX, & Dolby Cinema (whichever theater you use should also have separate tiers). Watch in IMAX or Dolby Cinema. IMAX gives you that taller and wider screen and better quality. Dolby Cinema is the best when it comes to image quality & sound quality & also seating. Whether you pick IMAX or Dolby is up to preference, but it will be SO much better than standard. You probably already knew this, lol, but my AMC only has standard theaters, and now that I've researched that, I'm definitely driving the extra miles to get to a Dolby one. And sorry for always leaving walls of text in your comment section😛I just really like talking about it with like-minded people and I can go on endlessly about this series. Also, be careful on Twitter for this season, specifically on Thursday - that's when leaks get released. I really hate that I've already seen images and plot points for E4😭

Love it! I think it will be great either way. Personally I think I’m leaning a bit towards more wanting a season with maybe a world tour before it 😅 but I don’t mind either way.

@@edir4265 Yes! That’s another thing that I’ve thought about. Infinity Castle is going to be a HUGE announcement. But if they just do what they have been with the anime adaptation announcement videos where they just show a picture of the manga covers redrawn saying “Infinity Castle Adaptation Confirmed!” - that will literally have 0 impact or hype behind it. Like I wanna see them just drop a very cinematic and overly dramatic Trailer 1 video that you’d see come out of any high budget movie franchise. Even if they don’t show much or it’s like 30 seconds, just make it super cinematic and attention-grabbing. Like they only have a few chances to build hype for the next arc - they can’t waste them on lukewarm marketing. Like just at the end of this season alone will be a huge moment and cliffhanger that NEEDS to be followed up by something equally as big. Not just a tweet announcement. Please aniplex/ufotable…
