I don't believe so. I've read the manga a long while ago so I don't remember much of it but I'm certain that muzan and yoriichi only encountered each other once and yoriichi obviously failed at killing him but was more close to getting him than anybody else. That was why muzan was so afraid then and since then he's been more of a constant coward with the fact that he could die again if he's not careful with the demon slayers. Bottom line, I feel what yoriichi meant by that line was how could muzan forgot how invaluable a human life is or what it was like to live a human life. Tanjiro kinda said something along those lines to daki. 🤔👐🏻

Some theories suggest Yoriichi is the divine blessing meant to eliminate suffering (Muzan) as his mother prayed to the gods for suffering to be rid from the world during her time. Of course, he failed in his lifetime. But the lessons he passed down (Dance of the Fire God being a flamboyant diluted version of Sun Breathing) fits the theme of fate rather than just simply destiny being met, a.k.a. for Muzan.

Yoriichi had such a little spotlight in the demon slayer verse but still he stole the show. Be it Muzan or Tanjiro, no one came close to the epicness that this man portrays. To demon lord muzan, he was the real monster. To normal humans, he was a literal god. To demons, he was a calamity. To his brother, he was a sun he could never hope to look up to. To his friends, he was as gentle as spring breeze.

maybe the author will release a gaiden about yoriichi. Eventhough there is not much story to be told about him, perhaps his journey into power might be interesting. This guy was op by the time he turned 9 yrs old. He gave no fucks about fighting because he is so far above everyone that it is boring to him. The only reason he even picked up the sword is because of his wife. After his encounter with muzan it was over because he knew muzan would hide until he is dead. So yea, in terms of story, eventhough yoriichi does not get a lot of screen time, he has already given as much as he can give. There is nothing else to be told or shown about him. His will and mission live through the younger generation and he even has his own impact in the final fight by guiding tanjiro with the scars on muzans body and also through the inherited memories of the 13th form.

My favourite part of the entire series is just how utterly outclassed the heroes are... the villains are so monumentally strong, they physically have no hope of fighting them to completion without luck and spoilery areas I wont broach. okay so those saying yoriichi's overrated: - he barely gets any screentime - he literally defeated muzan in his first battle with him and muzan is so scared till now that in the manga he refers to him as the real "monster" - muzan's ptsd triggered in asakusa after seeing tanjiro wearing yoriichi's EARRINGS. - he scared his brother (kokushibo - demon) even when he was 85 years old, barely alive - he maintained his calm when he fought the STRONGEST DEMONS - he started all of this fight with the demons cause his wife and unborn child got killed, just showing how loyal he was

Fun fact(also spoiler alert): Yoriichi can't actually kill DKT. Could beat him in a fight though. Sounds contradictory I know, but you should remember that nichirin blades can only kill demons because the ore they are made of has a unique property, namely that it constantly absorbs sunlight. Without that, it can't kill a demon. So because DKT is immune to sunlight, by extension he is also immune to the nichirin blades that absorb it. Because of that, even if Yoriichi is stronger, he doesn't have anything that CAN kill DKT and as such will lose, eventually. That's not to say he's weaker though, he's probably the only one that could manage to get away from DKT alive, or even fight him head-on. Maybe a poison would work, like the ones that Shinobu uses, but it'd have to be so potent that it's pretty much impossible to make, and even then it'd still have to actually somehow get into his bloodstream to take effect, which is a whole other issue.

I have this theory which I cant confirm but the similarities between tanjiro and yorichii is so tempting. It almost seems like yorichii is incarnated in tanjiro to fulfill his true mission which is to punish muzan and end the demons once and for all. They have the same hair, the mark on their head, the skill in fighting, the kindness and determination and when tanjiro faced Daki he said the same speech that yorichii said to muzan himself. No wonder muzan's cells thought he was yorichii. Another thing that I find a bit mysterious is when tanjiro sees "yorichii type 0" for the first time, he was familiar with the face and he said that he know this man. How! I maybe crazy but it just fascinates me everytime I think about it!
