Kokushibou is the ancestor of muichiro. He has a younger brother, Yoriichi, who is also the man who appeared in Tanjiro's dream. the person who talked to Yoriichi in the dream was Tanjiro's ancestor. btw Yoriichi is a legendary swordsman, he can be said to be the strongest in the movie. even Muzan is afraid of him

These people actually reacted the same as i did when i first read the manga. All with the hanafuchi or hana smthng earring are tanjiro's dad because that's what he wears in the early episode, but right after when i read new chapter that actually said it's yoruichi, then i think that kokushibo is yoruichi. Then turns out the new chapter that shows us their backstory, pretty much confused if you're not reading the manga tho
