There's a video about rewriting the war arc, and he mentions that Rock Lee and Gai/Guy embody the point of the entire series mroe than naruto himself - that the circumstances of ones birth do not determine your future /that hard work and commitment pays off. In his idea - GUY should've died here, but also should've killed madara, no regenerating half his body shit. Then b zetsu would come take over and bring Kaguya. I like that way more, would add even more hype to this

Thirty years old obito who has been preparing for infinite tsukoyomi is even stronger. Itachi can't do shit against kamui. He is probably stronger than itachi in all ninjutsu, taijutsu and even genjutsu ( since he kept a jinchuriki under his control for several years when he was 13). He even defeated a well-prepared konan who was 100% sure that obito would die. Itachi is strong man but Obito is on a whole new level.

The best part about this fight is that Might Guy achieved everything through his own hard work, determination and perseverance. He, who was an ordinary human, with no special bloodlines or alien genes or abilities to speak of. He who was ridiculed as a failure and a flop for not even being able to use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, who was once considered bottom rung lowest tier fodder, managed to achieve the ability to fight against a Living God and Legend himself, even if it was only for a short and brief moment, and even managed to kick said Legend's a$$. This very fight is so very touching in that, all the hard work and suffering Guy endured had finally paid off.

You can choose anyone, without their ninjutsu or genjutsu tricks or bijus help, they would all lose. Except maybe one: third raikage. He was a monster and had one of the toughest defenses of all, only pierced through by his own attack. He reminds me of Saitama from OPM. The only way to defeat him is by making him hit himself with full power. In OPM manga, Saitama is facing Garo, which gained the ability to copy anything. Last chapter ended with a neverseen angry Saitama throwing a super serious attack against Garo, and Garo's instantly copying his serious stance and his super serious attack back to him. Let's see who defeats who. I bet Saitama beats the copy. As i said, he can only be defeated by one of his own strongest attacks, not by a copy

Guy is my favorite character but this fight wasn't really good in my opinion. It was simply exposition for the 8gates and the fight was inconsequential to the plot. Madara didn't do anything, didn't throw a punch, use a jutsu or the techniques used against N & S. After it ends, Madara regenerates and the REAL fight with Naruto and Sasuke starts. Naruto saving Guy at the end adds insult to injury. After paying the ultimate price for the chance to end Madara, Ninja Jesus taps him and makes his sacrifice worthless. But hey red vapor dope tho.

This might very well be the strongest person in all of Naruto. He damn near killed Madara Uchiha with the 10 tails and infinite regeneration, 100% with his own strength. He didn’t have any kekkai genkai, he didn’t have any tailed beasts, he didn’t have any powers from the Sage of Six Paths, he didn’t even use jutsu. This was pure, 100%, raw power from a man who built it all on his own.

Because Gai had nothing but Taijutsu, something about that and him almost killing Madara is greater than Naruto with the help of his pet fox almost killing an alien dude with less history than Madara and story coverage overall. But to each their own, maybe to another person's ear Baryon mode sounds better. But because this story is about Narudo and Saski being the best, I believe the writer wanted Gai to be better at some point (and I think other characters too) but he had to scrap those ideas and nerf Gai (remove the leg) and set him aside. I think most writers get those ideas and move on from them, it's part of the creative process maybe. I hope sometime in the Boruto Shippuden or whatever they will call it when he faces a big threat similar to Madara he or someone might look back at Gai and instead of the ninjutsu and shinjutsus or whatever they use Taijutsu and activate the Gate of Death to beat that threat. That would be nice but honestly it doesn't matter, what we got from Gai is enough.

If Kaguya was going to be the final boss anyway, the writer could have made Guy kill Madara thus strongly proving how hardwork can do wonders. Such a missed opportunity. They could have even made Guy and Lee team up with 8 gates against this Madara to defeat him. Then they could have had Naruto and Sasuke take on the final boss thus maintaining their main character status.

@@mohamedrishwan8819 Highly doubt it. His taijutsu surpasses everyone he's fought, but that's about it. It's a very obvious attack that Madara straight up let him land. Madara saw it coming and just stood there to see if he could tank it. In reality, Guy would've easily lost at this point if Madara dodged and countered him. Yall forget that without the help of 3 people blocking his orbs, Guy wouldn't have been able to land a punch. There's also the fact that Madara would have izanagi/izanami as a Trump card and Hashirama uses wood clones and self regeneration. Guy only has a chance if he can land a fatal blow which is very slim
