The Triptych is my favorite, but they don't have a bad album--or a bad song. They are AMAZING. They can do ballads, like the intensely sad The Tide Began to Rise, or My Heartstrings Come Undone, or headbangers like this one.

I'll never forget the night I saw these guys live at Creation Fest 2012 after this album came out. The show was delayed due to a crazy storm coming our way, so the show didn't end until about 2am. I stood in the merch line for what felt like forever after days of not really sleeping and hours of just being at different concerts, but one detail stood out to me once I got to the merch table: an egg from the Alien movies was their tip jar with a piece of tape over it that read "Burrito Fund." I bought my shirt, got it signed, and walked back to my tent with my senses all out of whack from being awake for so long and having been subjected to metal for hours after preparing for a terrible storm that somehow just blew over.

Hey, Dylan. How u doing man? Everyone's opinion will be different on this, obviously, but...I'm going to have to go with "True Defiance" as it's more melodic & I really like Yogi on drums & Patrick Judge on lead guitar, but I do miss Don Clark (Ryan's brother) on guitar. I actually like the newer DH stuff better than the older stuff just because I think their newer stuff was more melodic than like their first two albums. But yeah, it's ALL good stuff, bro. Really, that's what you get from that. It's a testimony of where he was before Christ and where he is after. He speaks of his ignorance and rebellion towards God. He about living word which is a reference to the Gospel. He speaks about the death of his body and the life of his spirit. Don't assume just because he has taken a poetic and dramatic route of saying it that it doesn't reflect his christian beliefs.
