8 years later and this song is still one of the best songs I've ever listened to. I've recently lost two members of my family, and it still hurts to this day. This song is cathartic and brings me to peace knowing that they're in a better place. Thank you Demon Hunter for creating the best music I've ever listened to. May you keep creating more and more amazing music. God bless.

If you see me losing ground Don't be afraid to lie I know the pain inside my heart Can't break the fear inside of yours And if you see me losing faith in what it means to die Don't let me leave before I know what lies beyond the stained-glass doors Save sorrow for the souls in doubt Bleed every care out Will you carry me down the aisle that final day With your tears and bones shaking from the weight? When you lower me down beneath that sky of grey Let the rain fall down and wash away your pain For every word we never spoke, We have a tear to cry For every silence's like a wall between a better you and I So if you see me losing sight of all the death and life Find the peace in every time I fail to see the death in mine Let all the fear inside you drown Tear out the blade that let you down Save sorrow for the souls in doubt Bleed every care out Will you carry me down the aisle that final day With your tears and bones shaking from the weight? When you lower me down beneath that sky of grey Let the rain fall down and wash away your pain O

I'm an atheist but this song really touches my soul in a way that makes me question... Edit: I'm a born-again disciple of Christ now and I couldn't be more at peace. The Lord saved me when I was teaching in Japan. Thanks to everyone in the comments for the love. God bless you all.

Romans 10:13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. If at anytime you you want to come to Christ read this ok: "Dear God, I thank you that you see me just as I am. I know I’ve sinned and walked away from you. I ask Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior today. I believe that He died for me and I believe that He rose again. I give you every part of me now. Please forgive me of my sins. Be my God. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You are a precious being, not an animal that spawned from an ape. I suggest you read the prophesies of the bible and see how things came true 100 and even thousands of years before they were predicted...then read book of revelation and see how it shows you whats happening to our world currently. Jesus loves you and I love you and its your choice...the road to heaven is narrow and the road to hell is wide. The bible clearly tells us how us Christians will be harassed and killed by the the new world order. thats already happening but eternity is a long time to be wrong. Test Jesus, and ask him to visit you or send a message in a dream. you'll be surprised. The world seems easy, but it's dying. God bless and feel free to reply if you want to talk. Jesus Bless and ROCK ON!

There is no question. Only answers. They're all written in His book. He died for you and me. We are not worthy, but made worthy through His sacrifice. Please reach out to me if you desire to know God and Jesus. Would love to have you in eternity.

I saw this video and heard this song for the first time the day before one of my best childhood friends took his own life.. I'm in no way religious but this song is pinned to that event in my life forever, I feel like it means something. It started to rain when we arrived at the cemetery, and poured as we carried his casket, and for the first 5 years after, it rained on that day. Rest Easy S.E.C 84-08

Demon Hunter is my favourite band. Every time I hear this song, I cry 😢 When Ryan says let the fear inside you drown. I think of how we have to let go of fear because Satan wants us to be filled with fear. With Jesus, he can tear out the blade that pierced you. My mom recently died a year ago and she is in Heaven now. Just an emotional song. Love it so much. God Bless everyone in Jesus name.

Im only 15 and ive been through more than anyone should ever have to go through. I was raised in church but i still doubted (i still do sometimes) my dad passed when i was 8. Afterwards my mom turned to alcohol for fulfillment. 7 years later im going through the same thing. Partying with my friends everynight at 2 am. Smokin dope, starting pain pills. Finally God convicted me through one of my friends to sober up. Its not easy but 3 months has goes real slow when you just sobered up. I thank God for what hes done for me and you should too
@katiec6828 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry you lost your dad at such a young age. And in a way it sounds like you lost your mom too when she checked out with alcohol. I'm so sorry. I'm 31, and while neither of my parents died while I was young, they might as well have. They checked out. My mom was an alcoholic and dope head. I had the same behavior by the time I was 15-16. Thankfully God was merciful and brought me up out of a pit of despair when I was 20. I've gone on to be married to a wonderful man of God, raising 3 great children. God's been so good to me. It may feel hopeless and disparaging right now. I've been there. It's not an easy road to walk down. But I can tell you as someone on the other side, if your surrender to Christ it will get better. I'm not going to say it will be perfect, but He will be your source of strength and comfort as you walk this road. When I look back on where God has brought me from, I just weep. He will do the same for you if you let Him. I really hope things are better for you. God bless

So we made this video with just a couple people and my friends in Demonhunter out on Whidbey Island. Where they made the movie The Ring. It was a cool, incredible, cinematic experience. There is something about making art with just your friends -- the result is beautiful like Carry Me Down. I love this video.

"In December of 2001, Aaron [Barkland] took his own life, just weeks before Christmas. I don't know what was going through his mind to drive him to that point, but it is safe to assume he felt alone and that no one cared. It was a terrible tragedy and was very hard for me to deal with, as well as his family and other friends. I kept thinking that if I was only more in touch and not away at school maybe things would be different. Aaron had written me a note in high school about our friendship that I had always carried around in my wallet, and still have to this day that I used to read whenever I was feeling down and out. It's a painful reminder of the pain of that loss. Fast forward to December 14th, 2007. We are shooting the video for "Carry Me Down" in North Eastern Washington, up at Whidbey Island. I wasn't really aware of where we were shooting and all the locations and such. The first location we shot at was a bridge called Deception Pass, which was the bridge where Aaron took his life, 6 years earlier on almost the same day. I had not been up to the bridge in those 6 years, and now showing up there unannounced was a little unsettling. Interestingly enough, we were shooting a video for a song about a funeral and the hope we have of Life after death."
