I was bitten by a bat on my left foot exactly 9 days ago (Tuesday Oct 18th). I waited 2 days to seek treatment. On Thursday the 20th, the 1st day of treatment (called Day 0 by hospital staff), they gave me a rabies immunoglobulin shot near the bite mark and also in my left deltoid muscle, as well as a rabies vaccine in my right deltoid. I came back on Day 3 for another rabies shot in my right arm. Today was day 7 of treatment. I had another rabies shot, again in my right deltoid muscle. I have to comeback to the hospital on day 14 and again on day 28 for further rabies shots. The brand of vaccine given to me is Bavarian Nordic "RabAvert."
