Narcissists occur on a spectrum of severity. It's not an on/off switch. We all have to have a low grade level of narcissism to ensure our needs get met. It is only when an emotional injury happens (or failure to grow) that this drive grows out of proportion. I know many people with varying levels -- myself included--because I was made the family scapegoat. I responded/compensated by becoming more self centered and self protective. Seeing this, I work to grow beyond this coping mechanism. Family members with this trait love me as much as they are capable of, and I've seen growth in them as I maintain healthier boundaries. Seriously.. demonizing people and pointing the finger, calling them demon possessed is extreme. Have I known such individuals? Oh yeah. I also know Jesus loves them too and isn't done with them yet. I'm leaving that type to wrestle with God without my interference. The labeling, though..and finger pointing comes across like someone who doesn't want to take responsibility or accountability. I picked my narcissistic ex. That's on me to figure out why I chose him, what I didn't recognize, and why I waited so long to bail. I don't believe in blaming and pointing the finger.. It gets in the way of maturity..and God wants me to grow up.

My Mother and brother are narcs, my Dad has dementia I have been looking after him for 3 years.my dad is very wealthy all of his property was given to my mum and brother.my mum and dad are seperated .I have been given nothing and I'm totally OK with that. I work full time and look after my Dad in the evenings 7 days a week he lives on his own.I have gone no contact from my brother and mother since last September. Looking after my Dad has me burnt out , so I told his health care team I will not be providing care for my Dad much longer as my marriage is suffering due to working full time and looking after my Dad.they told my mum and brother, what did the narcs do???????? They rang the police and told them I was being abusive and violent towards them.even though I haven't spoken to them in 5 mts.they were panicking as they don't care for my Dad and they might have to start doing something to help with his care.the police seen straight through them and told them they will arrest them for social disorder if the called the station again.yesterday evening when I was at my dads house my brother said to me would I like a house???? One of many that my dad gave him, he was trying to buy me, I told him where he could shove it, then he offered me money, I refused it and god knows I could do with it, but if I took anything from them they would make life harder for me.they have destroyed me mentally and physically, and it's killing them that I won't take anything from them. I can feel God with me evey step of the way guiding me and helping me, thank you heavenly father for looking after me and giving me the strength to remove myself from those evil people Amen

I was best friends with a psychopath. I always admired how calm he was. Cool and calm. He was a nice guy. Former preacher. He always drove as fast as he could. Drove in the left lane. He faked empathy. He future-faked me all the time. He betrayed me in the end. After 12 years of friendship. I now realize that psychopaths want to see you beg. It makes them feel powerful. He did the same thing to his ex wife. He abandoned her when she was pregnant with their baby. He refused to help her. I now understand why she despises him so much. He has no conscience. He lies to everyone. He steals every chance he gets. If you meet someone who shows little emotion, watch out!

That wasn't his fault. Was he really a psychopath? His brain doesn't work as it's supposed to. Most high-profile politicians and CEO are psychopaths. It has to do with the amygdala that doesn't work. It's a physical problem that has psychological symptoms. I know this because after 51 years, I just got the diagnosis. When I was a teenager, they thought I was autistic, but they finally got me to have an MRI test, and that's what they explained to me. I also did a cognitive test called the Hare test, and both clearly shows that I have that disorder. I'm not violent but I don't have a high emotional range, I'm angry or normal. I do care about my kids and close family members. It makes me a good manager.

My covert narc mom is queen of the mind games. I've been so confused for years trying to make sense out of something I will never understand. As an adult I'm just now realizing how manipulative and a gaslighter she is. For example, she'll push me into a job but then when the job laid me off and it was a toxic company, she was like, "You should've known that was a bad company. I knew all along that wasn't going to work out." And she'll keep giving me the "I told you so." even though she didn't say a word before. She'll also tell me she's so worried about me when I go out anywhere and will call and text me. I accidentally forgot to let her know that I would be home an hour later than I said. I apologized and promised I'd make sure to let her know in future but she gave me silent treatment, refused to accept my apology, rolled her eyes and ignored me when I gave a sincere apology, and told me she didn't care if something bad did happen to me. Days later, she acted like we were best friends again. I don't get it though. How can she proclaim to be a Christian and tells me that she prays for me and wants the best for me but constantly manipulates, gaslights, and controls me?

@kaitlynkarol460010 ай бұрын
This is not what that means b/c there is more to it than that. We have two types of judgment and the bible is cherry-picked to fit ea person's narrative. "Judge not lest ye be judged'" means that if you can dish it out - you should be able to take back someone else's judgment. It also is teaching how to not be a hypocrite: If I tell you how to work out b/c I am a fitness instructor, then I better be able to be fit too and not obese and sick. I can judge b/c I am living up to my own preaching. So if I am judging properly, I can take any criticisms b/c I know I am strong enough due to being right so I can take it. If we judge RIGHTEOUSLY we are judging in a fair way. If you know them by their fruits as scripture says, we can see who they are. We are not supposed to judge the heart but are supposed to judge the behavior. If you let someone abuse you, you should be able to judge their bad behavior to judge how you need to leave them or strategize a way around them.

KRIS, GOD IS USING YOU SO MUCH IN MY LIFE! My 2 older siblings have made me their scapegoat, smeared me, been triangulating & cruel to me for many years. Many Christians who haven't experienced this will say "love & forgive & sacrifice more like Jesus did". But Jesus love was so much more than that! You help take Scripture and apply it practically in these unique situations. Dont ever stop helping us all like you do!! PLEASE IGNORE ANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE! I was just thanking God yesterday for allowing me to find your videos. I get daily encouragement and have even been able to read my Bible again (reaffirming my identity in Christ) because of your validation as to where the lies and cruelty is coming from and how Satan has always had this pattern in using people. Very few pastor/teachers talk about Bible passages that tell you how to respond (or not respond) to evil people and I thank God that He is using you to truthfully address this and help bring such hope & healing to your viewers! ❤
@sarahdouglas58519 ай бұрын
...also some of that advice from fellow Christians, that I spoke of, will lead you down the road of trying to appease & please the narcissists, which God NEVER asks us to do (its a bottomless pit)!! It also made me constantly wonder what Ive done wrong or should have done. I've learned that Satan loves to keep us on that treadmill so we will be stuck and paralyzed. Jesus never wondered how he could make evil people happy! God has so much more in mind for our lives. He's not only love & mercy, He's also truth & He is just. Jesus never let others control him but he was exactly what He needed to be toward each person he came in contact with, according to the condition of their heart and motives. He gave grace to the humble but opposed the proud. An older person once said "You would never send your child out to play with the neighborhood bully, right? So why would we do that to ourselves"?!! That's SO freeing! Jesus wants us to be free to love and trust HIM, not chase after evil doers, trying to obey their selfish whims & demands. Thank you again Kris for naming the issues and exposing what scripture practically says about it. No, the Bible will not describe each of our own particular situations but the wisdom and answers are all there to be applied. Thank you again!

She laughs at what she says.. I find no humor in it. I didn't think of her as a narcissist, but I am convinced she has a lot of these traits. I am so far from perfect and I am sure I have some of these traits because of our parents and how we were raised. It took me too many years to realize what kind of person I was. I have repented and cried many tears and still do, especially in how I treated my own children😢

I also have a sister exactly like that…throwing digs all the time and then is offended you didn’t find humor in her joke, and we are therefore too serious and looking for a fight…smh! Insanity at its finest

The narci that was my husband ,bought me knickers ,When I was walking with him ,I asked him a question ,he got angry and asked me to give him everything ,that he bought me ,I took off knickers ,shoes ,and a hat ,I walked on barefoot until we got home and he was happy to carry the stuff .when we got home ,he demanded sex ,I refuses because I was upset ,again he demanded everything he bought me ,I packed everything and gave him back .we stayed like that for weeks ,no talking ,later on he apologised and said ,you made me do it but I love you so much ,after apology ,the sex was intense ,after that I felt used and dirty ,but I was only in my 20s and new to marriage life .I left him with loads of health issues after 20 years .Its been 4 years now ,I am on the run .

The narcissist will wait until you're losing weight and you have told them repeatedly I don't want any more sweets if you're going to buy me something buy me a protein bar or a protein drink or something healthy and then they the narcissist will repeatedly buy you sweets
@JuliaBates-tq1ej3 ай бұрын
@@RossAveritt oh yes, and then if you take the sweets, or you still complain about your weight,it would be pointed out about your self control. Well if you don't have self control of course your not getting anywhere. Oh and then the bs that comes after your becoming successful with weight loss there are other tools they use to take you down.

My loved one is a narcissist and pathological liar. She had a traumatized childhood. Her father left her when she was an infant with a reason “not mine”. Her classmates call her “the unwanted”. Her mother lived as a mistress to raise her. She witnessed her grandfather tied her grandmother to a tree to beat her up. I tried to help but she teamed up with a demon to break my spirit. But God came to save me and heal her wounds and restore her soul . Since the day I offered my heart for God Almighty, I haven’t lost a battles. God taught me love all and forgive all; just as the sun shines and the rain falls on the grateful and ungrateful hearts. No demons can stand against God’s Glory. No wounds are so deep that God’s Love can’t heal. I am not a Jewish and not a Christian, but in suffering I cried out to God and He came. I leave this sign post here for wandering souls in darkness that God is real and His Love is true. With God’s Love 🙏❤️🔥🪷

Jesus says in Matthew 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." I'm glad you and she both sound healing. Give your heart to Jesus so you _can_ have mercy and go to Heaven.

This is especially sad eyhen you can see someone forming thier kids into this as well. The result is no one can stand to be around them now.

Four steps to unlove them : First step : Realise that you have been abused. Second step: Accept that it was not your fault, and this is the way they relate to many like you . Third step : Remember that you were always anxious, nervous, & stressed with them. Your body was rejecting the relationship and you miss what "could have" been. Forth step : Forget them ! Move on like you never knew them; Because in reality, You didn't.

@@andrewbeckman7687 it’s not about unloving someone as God always loves his children. It’s about setting boundaries, healthy boundaries for yourself and you can still love them.

You're really good at calling it like it is and relating it to the Bible, which is very important to me. I haven't found many reliable advisors so far. Thank you for helping me understand that I was stuck in a mud up to my neck, and it was only by God's grace that I didn't end up in a mental hospital.

The mention of any and all past wrongs (or perceived wrongs) is spot on. Was in a relationship with a woman who had very short memory for good things, but almost unlimited memory for bad things. In disagreements, sure enough those would be dumped out, piled on, in the middle of criticising, blaming, shaming, guilt, etc. Like a multipoint attack on your spirit, soul, heart, to just crush you and beat you down so she could 'win' at all costs. This has also been called "emotional baiting" and "induced conversation." It pokes your wounds or weaknesses. Then you want to defend yourself, to set the record straight, so you get more emotional. Then they act calm, because "look, you are the crazy one, you are unstable, you are the narcissist..." This is then called "reactive abuse" where you get conditioned to react in a shorter and shorter time, till even just their look or tone of voice, or sigh of annoyance can push your button. Then they love to do that in front of another person or counselor, etc., painting you as a horrible person who is mistreating or abusing them, they are so good, you are the problem, and on and on. You doubt your own mind, memory, feelings, and are confused. Then each time it makes you more cautious to 'rock the boat' on any problem, avoid problems, avoid feelings, wants, needs, etc. because those would be criticised as well, then when you don't agree with or support her victim mindset, you are accused of being selfish, no empathy, a bad person, etc... I didn't realise a person could fake empathy, then accuse you of not having any, so you feel guilty or shamed that you are a 'bad' person... Nothing could pump her up enough, or fill that deep emptiness, there seemed to be an unnatural desire for you to validate / compliment / praise / dote on her, and she was still never happy. Then she would remind you of how you are not loving or supporting her.... or attack your mental health, your memory, self-care, etc... just depleting your very life energy, day after day.

Painful to hear, but so valuable to be reminded that the narcissist fully intended for you to experience psychic pain, and to doubt and beat up on yourself. Oh how I wish the narcissist abuser could be exposed and that justice could be done!

You can heal from these evil acts. Take the time to peel yourself like an onion. Shed all those evil things that you have absorbed. If you are a Christian, walk with the Lord and cast your cares upon him. After you have peeld yourself bare, build yourself up with qualities that are virtuous. If you are a Christian, cloth yourself in His righteousness and know that he loves you and will establish your footsteps as you make your plans. All the best.
