My first "two" or for the matter of getting i license was a 71 , 650 Triumph Tiger. It was a basket case when I bought her. Within a couple years she was full restored and customized for my pleasure. The former owner had trophies on his shelves for being the fastest in its class. Even as a basket case it gave me my thirst for riding. I now roll on an 07 Fatboy, It has some goodies on her but none look or sound like her. I see what you see Ride on brother.

Interesting to be reminded about the Triumphs as I knew two ex pagans (from the 80's) and at least one of them still rode a heavy custom Triumph that would shake you apart on the road if you did not know how to handle it. I also knew some one that had an old Indian chopper. It was pretty much the same or similar to an old Harley from the looks of it. A fun ride either way.

Polaris consolidated Indian and Victory. Both good bikes. My main ride is a #Sportster, with a dressed #Lowrider #EVO for touring and long runs. There are several 1% clubs in Southern California that exclusively ride sport bikes, and a few that ride dual purpose and adventure touring bikes, and I know of one diamond wearing stunt crew that ride Groms. Outlaw racers (people doing non-AMA racing) ride a lot of CZs and JAWAS on speedways, and XLR-750 Sportsters are popular for that, too. Most 1% clubs here like big bikes, a lot of Road Kings and Road Glides, and an Electra Glide here and there. Street glides are not as common. The other really popular bikes are Dynas, then Softails, though chopper and Vicla guys like the softails and the big (1200) Sportsters. Personally I prefer my Sporty. It's kind of ridiculously hot rodded, but I'm an old racer so it fits me.

I don’t want to destroy my bike with road chemicals from de- icing. And subzero temps keep me at bay too. Once it’s in the thirties, after a few rains to wash things off. I’m good to go. I like the colder weather. Also like the hot weather. Both have pros and cons. I feel like an outlaw sometimes. I see a yellow light and say to myself “ fuck it , I’m going for it.” That’s my experience. And I fully appreciate what the FLHR has to assist in the moment. I think it’s nimble as it can be. And heavy. And even more I love the hydraulic clutch. Once figured it is smooth as , something very smooth:) not butter. I’m getting fat. So making changes. Love the glass with no fairing too. Easy to remove. And there if I need it. Nothing cool about catching a bolt off the road to the face. But those glides have my attention too. That level of comfort on some long rides is awesome.

As I am sure you know Sose, many of the big MC's overseas are rocking Vrods!!!! Yes, a Vrod is considered a Harley, but it was engineered by Porsche. So. Is it considered a Harley or a Euro bike? It has been a question of mine, ever since, I have been involved in Motorcycle culture, and the other portion of the Motorcycle world. I have been riding for forty years now, and here in the States, I believe, that a great deal of the Clubs here in the States, many of the Members ride Softail Deluxes. Just my opinion. I love the content, I love what you do for the Culture, and you always keep it real my dude!!!! Thank You!!!!!! #ghostin #sose #mc #demonsrow

"Science and technology revolutionize our lives, but memory, tradition and myth frame our response." - Arthur M. Schlesinger #selfsufficientghost I ride a 2003 Yamaha XVZ1600 (dark gray metallic) or a 2000 Suzuki GXS-R 600 (blue/black), depending on where I'm going and what I need to look like when I get there. I ride old school so that I can work on them myself and skip the mechanic's bill. There plenty of parts available and even more how-to's on the KZbin. You should check out the history of HD, it may surprise you.

I roll on the HD SG. Gives me the comfort my old back needs when riding distance and plenty of room for when my ole lady is riden along. I personally like HD over other bikes but respect all those who ride on 2’s of their choice.
