Demonstrate congruence using a transformation sequence
In this lesson you will learn how to show two figures are congruent by using a sequence of transformations.

STANDARDS
CCSS.8.G.A.2 Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them.
TEKS.G.6.C apply the definition of congruence, in terms of rigid transformations, to identify congruent figures and their corresponding sides and angles;
TEKS.8.10.A generalize the properties of orientation and congruence of rotations, reflections, translations, and dilations of two-dimensional shapes on a coordinate plane;
TEKS.G.3.C identify the sequence of transformations that will carry a given pre-image onto an image on and off the coordinate plane; and
IN.8.GM.4 Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations. Describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between two given congruent figures.
