I used this machine in my physical therapy today. I had never heard of it before but let me tell you that for the first time in two years, I was able to walk for almost 10 minutes. It takes the pressure off of the back and knees and yes, despite a previous comment, does work on an anti gravity principle. I actually felt disoriented after as you feel almost weightless. (Think walking in the pool but your legs are the only thing moving). In my case only my legs were moving and the rest of me was stationary although others may suit it for running and engage their whole body that’s not what I can do right now. It was an unusual feeling but it got me moving and I will be on it again during my time there. It’s an incredible piece of machinery and so grateful it exists!

Hey all, unfortunately I was only able to use it one time. I had hoped to be on it more ( a lot more) but my health took a turn during that time and all physical therapy had to cease. I’m up and walking on my own now for the first time in 3 1/2 years unassisted though so yay me! I will say, I do wish I had more time on the anti gravity treadmill to build up some muscle tone and endurance. Doing it on my own has been a tough road but happy to say that I’m up to walking a mile+ at a time now. If you have the opportunity to try this machine, please do it. While I may not have been on it for long, as someone who was always a very big walker and had her legs disabled for years, being on the machine reminded me of why I loved it so much and gave me the mental boost I so greatly needed. It gave me the reminder of yes I can and WILL do this again. And for that, I am truly grateful.

sadly I dont think thatll ever be possible, unless we found some exotically dense dark matter that we could make a floor, and more likely an entire massive foundation, out of :D although you can always just wear ankle/wrist weights to simulate increased gravity, and I can imagine some super high-tech solution that used magnets instead of weights with an adjustable magnetic floor to increase pulling force, that would be pretty awesome

Can someone explain the physics behind this? How does a pressure differential bubble affect weight? The person is still the same distance away from the earth, so the gravitational pull should still be the same regardless of the pressure bubble the body is in
@mentalmelt2 жыл бұрын
I guess the pressure in the bag just pushes/pulls you and your shorts upwards, like some sort of high tech wedgie.

Will you be able to burn the same amount of calories on this machine versus the original treadmill
@TheScytheMoron6 жыл бұрын
CALORIES = ENERGY ... lifting (even for a small motion as a step) 100kg takes more forces thus more energy than 50kg. So no you wont. But I think this may be a good way for rehab after surgery on the legs (knees, tendon, ....), when you are obese, want to lose weight and at the same time protect your knees and hips, or when building up heart endurance/strengs after a heart attack and stuff ... I do not think there is any significant use for someone who is healthy and fit.

Chandima Chathura it uses inflation where does the hmf come from ?
@gdude6295 жыл бұрын
It works on differing air pressure between ambient and internal bag pressure. This essentially counteracts the patient's bodyweight on a certain area (the waist). Just do a little bit of research on their website; no magnetism.
@ChandimaChathura19905 жыл бұрын
Mmm yeah then it must be issue free. But simply doesn't a pool works? Sometimes people with bowel and bladder movement problems, may find this useful as they can't really fall in to a pool. Right. 🤔👍

@Bocajbocaj-dd8ht6 жыл бұрын

@bena7545 жыл бұрын
Why the big vacuum bubble then?
@charminxtra2265 жыл бұрын
It works against gravity, so yes, it is anti-gravity. And that's not a vacuum chamber, it's actually the opposite; it's pressurized air used to hold up the weight of the individual.
@charminxtra2265 жыл бұрын
Air pressure doesn't affect gravity so a vacuum wouldn't have the effect you're thinking of.
@charminxtra226 Жыл бұрын
@@123a-o5d As far as I'm aware, there is no "version used in space" in regards to the particular device shown in this video. I presume what you're referring to is the idea that the inventor of this device originally came up with and led to his invention of this device, which was essentially this treadmill but with lower pressure causing a force pulling the user towards the treadmill in place of the higher pressure of this device which does the opposite, but I've never come across anything about the actual development and use of that idea. Considering such a system would be far more complicated and therefore more prone to failure, would take up more space, be heavier than, and would use more energy than the treadmill system already in use in space (such as the American treadmill installed on the ISS and the Russian one that preceded it), which uses a simple system consisting of a harness that pulls the user towards the treadmill using what is basically a set of bungie cords and chain links, and would have little to no actual benefits over that system, I would be surprised if such a treadmill was ever used in space.

NOTE: This product works exactly as described. kzbin.infoUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
