I use the same technique, But first I touch the spine ticks with a minute dap of a moist makeup tab. Works well.

Thanks for the detailed video. Impressive results, especially with the spine tics. I see the merit of steaming and wet cleaning the book with backer boards under the covers, as you ended up with very minor if any cover waves after pressing. I do suggest you turn the book around so the spine is on your right when you're working on front cover spine tics, since you hold the sealing iron in your right hand (as it naturally is when you're working on the back cover).

Thanks for the advice, after pressing no waving was present book was flat but not crushed from over press pressure, I don't like it when the book is completely crushed.

I run mine on high, remember never stop moving the iron.
