Thanks for the video sir. I am curious though, the popular method in the pressing community for this book is 160 degrees for 10 minutes. How did you come up with 200 degrees for 20 minutes? I have NEVER heard of pressing ANY book at such a high temperature or pressing for so long. Best to you.

First time I seen one of your videos, just getting into pressing as I always paid for others to do it, but I’m confident I can do a decent job. I’ve watched a few vids on the subject now, and yours has given me clarification on things I can do that I was unsure of, great video, thank you for your time in sharing, given the thumbs up and subscribed, great content 👌

I don't know about their use in cleaning comics but I was taught not to use pink erasers when cleaning electrical contacts because they leave behind an oily residue. I was told use a white art eraser.

60lb cardstock, keep in mind that it may produce a ridge along the spine of a cover in which afterwards you would have to use a tacking iron with a chamfered comic book or magazine backing board to smooth it out

@@cfoxtrot22 I understand people have different techniques but the materials you use and your method will only lead people to a path of destruction. The eraser you use is not recommended. The fact that your book crackles tells anyone who knows that the book has been exposed to way too much heat. Im ok with you using a cheaper press. I realize not everyone can afford top equipment but I don't think you should be recommending tools and methods that will damage books

I want you to rewatch the video, just to 1:25. There i explain my disclaimer. However, its hard to find you credible. You have no videos of how to press or clean, or even, any video on how to properly maintain any conic book on your page. Yet you want to fill my feed with your "so called knowledge" of how to NOT do it. Then continue to claim that its your "profession". From an outsider, you kind of don't have a leg to stand on. Or even be reputable or taken seriously. Seems like leaving hate comments is your thing unfortunately. Which doesn't bother me, but makes this helpful community aware to who to watch out for. Thanks again, and remember to SMASH that like button on the way out!!!

@@cfoxtrot22 Everything looked ok to me. Yeah maybe the heat was a little high, and perhaps a shorter 'cook' time might be preferential to hopefully avoid the cracking when you turn the pages, but from my perspective the comic was a LOT cleaner and crisper, so what's not to like? Some people just like to moan, and dear Jeff is one of them. Carry on I'd say.

I have a similiar press, and my books are coming out wavy on the top and bottom. I set it to 150 degrees , heat 5 min on each side and let it sit in the press for about 20 hours or so. Can you give me any suggestions. I have watched a bunch of videos and everybody is different and its confusing. Thanks

Love to see this process on a coated modern glossy cover. The parchment will leave mottling and completely ruin the cover gloss. Backing boards are comic book storage supplies, not pressing materials. Cotton balls do pretty much nothing to clean dirt, embedded grime and stains from comics. You need to start looking for new processes. And perhaps invest in a quality press as well. Have you checked the temperature calibration on that thing? Most of them run at least 20 degrees too hot. Hilarious presentation - should wear clown makeup next time.

Bro, thank you so much for the comment and good laugh!!! They say that early success comes from haters and crab potters, and you're one of the first! Gotta be honest, subscribe to my channel and and watch some of my following videos. You'll find that I have had some killer success with using this method!!! Remember, your special way isn't always the best way. Even if your mommy tells you so. A clown outfit might be a little too much in opinion, but I did do an awesome giveaway video wearing a Santa hat with Yoda ears. Check it out if you want to laugh at me, its a good watch!!! Thanks for making my Monday special and have a kick ass day!
