To me her sister asked her which man she wanted and she stated she liked him and that’s all it is. Kate to me reminds me of the type of person who is a backstabbed and liar. You are older and could’ve told Edwina etc but you are absolutely not doing that. Then everyone hates Edwina for no reason when her site rose older and should’ve said something but didn’t. Edwina didn’t deserve that.

​@@konnieb9319 I think you're forgetting that Kate was sacrificing a lot for Edwina. She's even letting her fully take Anthony who she is absolutely in love with because she wants her sister to be happy. She could have told her sister about her feelings but she was literally putting Edwina first always. It was just that Anthony and Kate were in love and they weren't able to control it especially Anthony more. Kate always wished nothing more but Edwina's happiness. It is just accidental that she fell in love with Anthony.

Anthony was grabbing with trying not to fall in love with Kate bc of his fear of early death, and Kates trama was addressed and healed and so was his . there was so much left to tell, that I wish happened.

To be honest it feels like not enough people are talking about Eloises trauma. Because yes, Anthony has trauma because he admired his father deeple and then his father just died because of a bee and all that, but Eloise has trauma as well. She was around eight years old when the father died, when Hyacinth was born. It was mentioned in the first season that Eloise still hears her mother screaming in pain, that it haunts Eloise to know that she almost lost her mother at that night so shortly after losing her father. And here we saw it shortly how scary, how traumatizing that night truly was, how Violet suffered from depression after her husbands death. We saw shortly how Daphne was singing to Eloise in order to distract her from the painful screams. And it affects Eloise so much, we see that in the way she reacts to marriage and thinks of it as a cage, the idea of being pregnant terrifies her, she is not even able to hold her nephew properly and she looked so scared when they gave him to her. Eloise brushing off marriage is not just because she wants more than that or because she hates it, she is actually scared to death of the idea to live with someone who doesn't listen to her, who is brushing her off, who could be trying to FORCE her to give birth even tho she is terrified of it. The death of Edmund Bridgerton affected all of his children and while the night where Hyacinth was born affected not only Eloise, i think she is the one who feels the most taunted of that memory. She is, in fact, the same as Anthony in that regard

The bee panic is my favorite scene in the series so far. 🥰 I also liked season 2 far more than season one. (Daphne and Simon were too toxic for me.) Also, as a fellow chunky girl, I understand Penelope’s struggle. Lol!

TL;DR Basically I’m pissed because the moms point of view about how he used to be a sweet boy just shows how she completely misunderstood her negligence as a mother when things went wrong. She’ll call him a child one minute and then abandon him I’m his confusion so she can go be sad while he has to be sad, manage everyone’s grief, and take on responsibilities that he needed years to prepare for all in an instant and she wonders why he changed. Why tf would he want your input at this point. He came for his mother grief because while she talked about how he couldn’t make decisions because he was just a child she also fell in to her grief and left all the weight of the family in his shoulders not to mention while he had to go through the same grief of being there when it happened to his own father and managing everyone else’s grief instead of her. She wanted to talk about how he was a child when the baby was coming but then she abandons him in every other aspect that he wasn’t ready for but he had to be strong and do it alone. Explains why he was so standoffish when she was meddling in stuff during season 1. I already had to do it alone in the hardest time in my life because you dropped the ball as the last parent when it mattered most and he picked up the slack una way that a “child” shouldn’t have been left to do. Now she wanna give me your two cents about how he was a sweet boy and he lost it. Because he didn’t know wtf he was doing. The person that was literally techo g him how to be the man of the family dies and you just yeeted him into that position. Fair he had to do it anyway but to neglect him as a mother. He can be strong enough to lead the family but you can’t be there? You had a part to play in this mom. Fuck outta here with that he was a sweet boy. When he needed guidance you were absent and so he made a change in his outlook to make for a more stable foundation for himself because you as a mother couldn’t be his foundation. He was basically in an instant alone to handle everything he had never handled because that was his parents place of authority. He came for her grief because she got to be depressed meanwhile she basically gave her “child” (he was in his teens at the time) the epitome of “be a man” slap in the face. Do everything yourself and when I have a complaint help me. Stop needing help. Like wtf. Who wouldn’t change. Clearly who he was before was stressed out.

Honestly though, it's not even about being "chunky". Like any "plain jane" has been through the friend zone purgatory. I relate so hard to Penelope because of that. She's definitely my favorite. After reading the books, I have so many mixed feelings about the show, but I try to just keep them separate in my head. The show is definitely "inspired by" and I feel like a lot of the reasons why i loved the books were taken out of the show (especially season 2). All I ask is that they do season 3 right. I need me some Penelope and Colin action.

I swear book 4 makes up for colin being an ass. They are so good together in that book and they better do it justice in season 3. Ok, my big hot take. Do not get me wrong, I like Kathony, but I actually shipped Edwina and Anthony because I felt they bickered less and had meaningful conversations. I felt that Anthony and Kate were more lust and passion that could be lost later than a deep connection.

Season two of Bridgerton definitely tested us! We come around in the end but like probably the very end of the season. It was too much of a slow burn for us. But kate and Anthony had moments we enjoyed too!

Season 2 still can't compete with Season 1, Season 1 love story and the Simon Character was waaaaaaaay better than the Anthony character, many of the characters in season 1 was better, season 2 was boring and they tried to much to follow season 1 love chemistry and it Fail, season 2 fail for me as a male viewer who hate period drama but liked Season 1 the Simon SUAVE cool character made me finish season 1, season 2 lost 75% of the male viewers i could not finish i kept fast fowarding to see if it will get any better for me because i and most of my friends really don't like the Anthony character he is to typical of the period drama male actor men find boring and dislike, Simon was not the typical period drama male character thats why many especially us men who don't watch that period drama shit liked and could finish season 1.
