My opinion is that once the tre flip became standard, the varial flip was just seen as a lesser trick. It became, "just learn the tre flip"
@CpSkates3 ай бұрын
Your not wrong about that, some people did view it that way of course. But that is something seen later in skating, when a hatred had already built up. Personally I like both of them, Tre flip down big stairs and varial bump over something.

Some varial kickflips look sick but tre’s just look so much better. Varial Heelflips are top tier no matter what.

I think it's about the obstacle/ environment. Tre down stuff absolutly, but varials on bump over things.

Nah, most 360° flips look terrible.

When I first started trying kickflips I would do varial flips instead bc my body naturally turned bs but something clicked a few years ago and I can’t do them anymore

I tend to find it a little easier to land if you twist your shoulders a little backside and straighten them back up after the pop.

Not many people make them look good mainly bc they don’t do them that much
@CpSkates3 ай бұрын
That is true, usually the people who do them a lot tend to lack on Tre flips. Since I skate a bigger heavier board Tre flip take a ton of power to get around, so I do varials.

@@CpSkates mmm the board size shouldn’t matter though unless u scoop in a dif way then most people cuz I can do the scoop the same way on a 8” board jus like a 8.5 board I lowkey had figured out u do not wanna bend all the way down and use all force to Tre flip u wanna basically just do it lightly and that will add that effortless look to them and make then just take wayyy less work especially when u just wanna quick one an not doing a gap or sum
@CpSkates3 ай бұрын
@@yooomarie I've never been good at them. Nollie and fakie always came easier. I have been trying them off camera for a couple weeks now, to me it feels really heavy.

@@CpSkates I feel how u mean the board felt heavy to me like just last month before I really started practicing it it’s crazy how u can still learn stuff to improve your bag of tricks⛹️♂️

Your deffiently right man. I'm hopping the next couple years I can improve my ledge game to a tech status. I just can't take impact anymore, and go to work the next day.

Because it’s not a trendy instagram hard flip!!! Rly tho waters down to a skill issue mostly in my experience
@CpSkates3 ай бұрын
Skill deffiently plays a factor in it. My personal opinion I like that I can throw varials out in front of me. It was one the few flip tricks the worked for me off of stuff years ago.

So basically it’s what happens when the media and people with the mentality of 12 yr olds come together. It’s just a meme at this point. In REAL LIFE at the park, no one gives 2 sh!ts if you did a varial flip.

You are right on that. When I was a kid there was teasing but never anything crazy. Personally ignoring all the silliness I like they are becoming popular again.

@@CpSkates Yeah, I think kickflips, tre flips, BS/FS 180 flips, and half-cab flips all look good. For some reason variable flips don't, even when done well.
@CpSkates3 ай бұрын
Personally I think a lot of factors play in for me. I love seeing them over a bump, when the get streched out. When I see them down stuff I appreciate the drop more than the trick specifically.

For most people you are right. Especially in the modern era of skating. Personally I've never been good a Tre flips, they always ended up with a rolled ancle.

You need an editor. Good video. Good context. Hopeless presentation. You need someone who can cut this together so that it looks as good as it is. You could make some money off ads!
@CpSkates3 ай бұрын
I wish I had a editor. I have professional cameras and editing software, but I always been more of the filmer. I just don't have the time for 3 hour edits. If I ever get to monetize then I'll definitely think about Outsourcing the editing part.
