They’re in a pattern every 5 seasons they do a free/casual ranked season that breaks their game, starting with the first ranked season when you could still disconnect your internet and not lose rp. 5 seasons later they did the scan assist meta. 5 seasons later they swapped to 12-13 the first rat season(he states it being bad in the video). 5 seasons later we get LP system. 5 seasons later we get Medic mega buff and lowered RP costs.

Same here, kill grinder too.. I play solo since Day ONE.. I promised myself to atleast do 10k on Crypto (currently at 9600+) I dont know what I will do after that. Since solo players arent advantaged in this game.. It's getting very complicated to have fun actually, with these teammates who are most of the times not up to your level or the enemies who are much stronger than your 2 dumb randoms. Letting you most of the times do a 1v3. Will continue to play, i guess.. Merry Christmas bro

I will say the movement is not satisfactory personally and Apex wins over that regard imo.. but then The FINALS allows me to have fun with many modes and comboing gadgets/weapons that most games only offer partially but not all at once, and customizations of weapons and skins is extensive to be cool tbh. Even if The FINALS may have flaws with balancing, bugs, and admittedly the occasional blatant cheaters -- Apex has kinda already went down the worst on those aspects anyway, and it's not as impactful with this game.

Literally this message too. I quit several seasons ago, and just...the predictability on Apex Legends is so obvious. Like I get a SINGLE lucky win with 10+ kills and teammates that seem to keep up with me, then... Instead of celebrating I go "Ah...cool, time to be forced against every pro squad on earth to make sure I lose. Oh yeah, and the people who just downloaded the game being my teammates." Because it makes a totally fair fight. Like, when it's so obviously rigged that I don't get excited about a win, something is wrong with the matchmaking. So I just, had enough of Apex. No way I'm gonna play a game dragging me around like a sack of shit anymore.

I also want to highlight something that nobody speaks of: *the lore!* As a day 1 player I agree all the technical problems this game have (audio, servers, cheaters, matchmaking etc.) But for me lore was the thing that kept my interest 4 full years. A universe (Titanfall) with unlimited potential, untold stories of it unraveled with all the trailers we get, comics, in-game communication of the legends (when they thank each other etc.), co-op story mode in season 5, all the in-game teasers we had for the next season... list goes on. Now they don't even try to do something with it and this was my final branch to hold on to this game. Idk maybe if EA/Respawn makes a TV series for this universe I'd still follow but I guess *playing* in this universe is finished for me.

The lore died after they started adding plot holes, annoying characters and a fkn love triangle arc? It’s like they don’t care. But I’ll tell u when they did care. In the pathfinder lore book some things were confirmed, specifically about wraith and wattson. It explains labs and the shattered forest on kings canyon. Lore for a minor location that has not been in the game for over a year at that point. But the biggest clue to how they cared. In the wraith part it reveals her real name. Reneé Hope Blasey. Insignificant right? Wrong! In the critically acclaimed mission in titanfall 2 effect and cause there are several audio logs scattered around the level, hidden Easter eggs that do nothing except expand the lore. One of them has a recurring character, Dr Jefferson Boyle who in his last log says the line “see you soon Hope”, capital H is significant as it indicates a name. This takes place on the Planet Typhon that houses no civilians, strictly military. Wraith was born on Typhon so she has to be the daughter of military or research personel. You see where I’m going either this. They had the care to tie a major character in apex to a minor character in titanfall 2 who is only present in Easter egg audio logs to flesh out the lore. That’s how much they used to care. Not anymore.

This video really nails it. S0 player here, used to have 20+ friends online but the last year it’s been maybe 1 if any. I’ve solo’s to Master around 7 times and I kinda stopped playing. This is the first season I didn’t finish the battlepass I bought. The grind became worse, and having to carry low skill teammates for what seems like forever just to get into my own skill bracket for the last week or two AND having to deal with cheaters just sucked away all the fun. It became a chore, and I got angry every time I played the game. It’s criminal what they’ve done to this game in the name of greed.

they dont know what they are doing tbh, rank is try harders and cheaters, you get paired with the most casual players in a really high competitive lobby, in pubs you get matched against noobs or bots, when they match you against your level its always higher as he said, they add and remove modes instead of keep them, solos, duos, trios and quads can be keep, fortnite have the 4, for rank they have the same modes, i played fortnite and is really fun in rank once you reach siver 1 you start to compete as in apex against good players, they add new modes and delete it as soon as they add it instead of keep them one season long or half split, original fortnite still a thing, original apex dissapear after two weeks, revival came some time and suddenly remove them, limited time events also come and go, i only play rank and i can tell you rank system is bad with all cheaters and try harders you get, some doesnt even bother in hide they are cheating, i can assuere you between those try harders there are cheaters too

I was literally level 200 getting Level ONE and Level FIVE teammates, being forced to lose. The game does not care about fun, it just Forces you to win, then lose, win then lose.

season 13 split 1 was so great, and then it all went downfall. it was so inspiring to me to watch pro tournaments in like season 4 and how stacked it was with like 15 teams on last circles, and season 13 split 1 gave me that experience like in those pro matches, but in gold lobbies. it was such a peak experience which I wouldn't get otherwise, I loved it immensely

EOMM is ironically the only point he's factually incorrect about. At best, he's using the wrong term to critique what he doesn't like about the matchmaking which don't get me wrong, I agree isn't good, but isn't a unique problem to apex. Essentially, he's just describing regular matchmaking decay a ton of games use. There's no proof EOMM is implemented in Apex because the it was only proven to work in a 1v1 scenario. Saying "because EA patented it" is not proof. EA probably has dozens of patents that aren't implemented in every single of their game.

I went ahead and finished Baldurs Gate 3, Doom Eternal and Veilguard in the past few months and I've found my overall mood has gotten so much better. My buddy and I used to play this game everyday after work and on weekends. We liked the competitiveness, but also liked the casual side to it. The problem was the inconsistencies of matchmaking which basically had us quit. My buddy is better than me and whenever I'd watch him play BR or Arenas, he would always get the noobs, player who haven't played in months, or lower skilled players. He would always have to carry and even he couldn't keep it up. It has gotten to the point where we play one game and do pretty good, but then the next hour or two, get rolled. I have had a hard day at work. Don't need to hop on a game and not have fun and feel remotely competitive. I'm good.

Matchmaking is the reason I quit playing this game so long ago. I tried to improve at apex for a long time, and made some decent strides sometimes, but I would get very discouraged that despite improvement, I would only get into games with players that were drastically better than me, even after losing bottom 10, 10-15 times in a row. It’s disgusting how terrible the matchmaking is in this game.

Incredibly well said. I started playing at the start of season 4, and stopped playing Apex about a year ago. As a casual player, it also felt like they couldn't decide on the direction of the game. Legend ability overlap, constant buffs then nerfs, and of course the heavy monetization. I'm also disappointed that they stopped putting effort into the lore. Some of my friends recently invited me to play, and I hardly recognize the game anymore.

If you're on console especially you've probably never experienced them besides the controller mods people used to do, and on PC for the most part you won't have that problem unless you're in upper tiers of ranked, which most players aren't. So the cheater may have caused some content creators and ultra competitive players to leave, it is not a major concern for the mass exodus

This happened to me in the beginning of the season split a handful of times and I even had random teammates continuously telling me that they’re always crossing paths with a 6 man and people using Cronus , I played on consoles btw.

today i finally decided to unfollow just about everyone in the esports scene on twitter, made me really sad because I used to care a lot about following and keeping up with everything - it’s all gotten stale. for me, the game became unfun to play around the time they announced all the battlepass changes and greedy practices. the game was already going bad for me, but that gave me the excuse to stop entirely. then the esports scene started feeling extremely repetitive, with the same like 120 people swapping rosters all the time and no one new on top of the already dying game itself. really sad

You can’t support orgs like you can sports teams because their players last half a season and then are gone.

People have been saying “Apex is dead” for years but now it actually is. Similar to Blizzard, Respawn started as an awesome company that sold out and became completely anti-consumer. Purposely not banning cheating accounts because they’re spending money on skins and heirlooms, probably the worst matchmaking of any competitive game to ever exist, shameless monetization practices. Could go on and on.

EA does this and continues to do this to numerous titles that it owns. I'm an Apex fan and a hardcore Sims fan. When EA took over development for The Sims 3, I was cautiously optimistic at first - I was about 16 yrs old at the time. I was severely disappointed with the direction of TS3 after the first 2 expansion packs. I realised that while the people working on the game were extremely talented, passionate, and ambitious, there was another influence that seemed to dominate them. It was upper management. It was greed. I even did calculations comparing The Sims 2 to The Sims 3 in terms of cost. For TS3, they released the Sims Store which basically let people buy individual items and furniture sets. You could buy a chair for 50 cents or something. It seemed like a good deal until you added up lets say an entire packs worth of furniture and realised that you would pay double to triple the price JUST for "stuff", not even new gameplay functions. Despite this though, The Sims 3 felt like a full game - the base game was incredible with Open World despite my extreme distaste for rabbit holes. The content that they released did actually fill the game out very nicely despite my disagreement with their direction. Then came The Sims 4 in 2014. It went backwards in terms of including an Open World but they had multitasking, great build tools, and emotions. Plus, despite not having an Open World, they had "Semi-Open Neighbourhoods" which were essentially a specific area of the map that 3-5 lots would sit on which you could explore except the lots themselves required a loading screen. So it seemed like they were trying to go back to Sims 2 gameplay in a way - finding a medium between Sims 2 and Sims 3, which at the time, I thought was a good direction. But the base game had glaring issues. Multitasking could be extremely glitchy - sometimes Sims sitting down at a table would all get up randomly for no reason, or actions that you had in your Sim's action queue would stall for no reason. The base game also didn't have any ghosts. The ghosts had been a part of the base game since the first Sims game way back in the early 2000's. They also didn't even have POOLS, which were a part of the base game also since TS1. TS4 also didn't have ANY playable OR NPC cars that would take you places, like a job carpool or a taxi. Playable cars had been introduced in the first expansion pack for TS2 which also updated the base game the new car functionality, and NPC cars that came to pick you up and drive you places was in the game since TS1. And possibly the worst decision they made for the TS4 base game was that they REMOVED toddlers which were introduced in TS2 base game. They cited their "telemetry data" for TS3 that seemed to indicate to them that toddlers were the least played life stage and they decided FOR players that we didn't want them in the game or didn't care enough for them to be in the game. That was extremely disheartening - there was so much backlash, the official forums always had people arguing. They eventually added pools & ghosts within I think the first year, and then toddlers came 2-3 years after release. They tried saying that toddlers wouldn't be added into the game because it was "too difficult" given the coding or something like that. It was just pure bullshit. The same excuse has been made for playable cars as well - they've said repeatedly that they're not adding playable cars into the game at all. There are bugs and glitches that are in the game since launch, which was in September 2014. So some bugs/glitches have been in this game for more than a decade at this point. They also have released "kits" which are basically smaller versions of gamepacks, so TS4 has various types of DLC: expansion packs, stuff packs, game packs, and now kits. The game itself is optimised for low-end computers as well, so the content they release doesn't even look that good since it's low polygon. EA no doubt did this to sell their content to as many people as possible, and it worked, but the game is worse for it. Always has been, really. Unfortunately, I see a similar approach to Apex - they don't actually release gameplay content, they just release a bunch of paid skins and shit. It's horrible. And those heirlooms are RIDICULOUS ... we DO NOT need more $300 non-specific heirlooms when character-specific heirlooms don't even exist for all of the characters, along with the mythic skins. We really don't need 2 battlepasses per season ... no one plays this game just for the battlepass. On top of that, as you mentioned, the EBMM is horrible and stupid. Even when they tried to do SBMM they still fucked it up somehow. I think they're intentionally trying to kill the game at this point. I really don't know why they keep churning out stupid skins that no one asked for. Personally, I think Apex's success is very simple and straight forward. They don't need to do too much or go over the top with the game. Quite honestly, I've always only wanted Apex to be a BR - arenas and the control mode were interesting, but I majorly preferred just the BR mode. There were things I wish they optimised as well, such as a way for players to choose the map they're on as that impacted how much I wanted to play the game. I didn't want to play on Olympus sometimes or E-Distrcit, I just wanted Worlds Edge, Stormpoint, or Kings Canyon, but at least one of those would be out of rotation and then on top of that you would have to wait 24 hrs for ranked maps to switch. It's such a simple reason for playing the game, but EA doesn't even seem to really care about map preferences in their player base. Anyway, not sure what the future of Apex is going to look like, but it doesn't look very bright. I'm just waiting for a new BR to put the final nail in the coffin for Apex. I really don't want to play games made by EA anymore since they just end up restricting them due to their greed which leads to a shittier game over all. There was so much potential, and it was wasted.

I have always wanted this game to feature story-driven operation maps that could take a few days to complete, allowing us to play together with our friends. It's sad to see Apex as it is now. There's a thought that I've had that goes along with the points made in the the video of why Apex is hurting so much, and while it may seem like a personal complaint hear me out. The last shield update when Respawn took out blue and purple armor off the ground or armor swapping switching to only leveling up mainly by damage and maybe points hurt it more than most people realize. That along with the EOMM match match making makes it hard on new and average to below average players to last long in a game, especially if most squads all drop in one area. If someone's having a bad day/ session they'll just die quickly. There's no helping a teammates/friends, letting them take purple or blue armor to help keep them alive. It feels like they raised the bar to be able to enjoy the game.

I loved apex legends. I was so heavily invested. Started posting TikTok’s and YT clips because I was so obsessed with the game. Now I feel like I was robbed of my time, energy and money I put into the game. Flat out feels like robbery, it’s not the same game we loved and was neglected and left in the cold to make passive income until it dies. I have multiple heirlooms, and thousands of hours after work and weekends. I’m not alone, and for the hundreds of thousands to millions that are in a similar position EA has failed Respawn, Apex, and all of us.

The EOMM is so bad in this game that I have a K/D of literally 0.2 (yes, it's that bad) on a 2019 account and am still being matched against players with Pred badges and thousands of wins. It's broken beyond belief and I've never seen matchmaking this bad in any other MP shooter that I've ever played.

Then make BR-ranked solo-queue only for Diamond+ (both of these changes would make balancing ranked matches better). 3. Finally, make an "elite ranked queue" which allows 3 stacks of only Diamond+ with very strict balancing standards and moderately long queue times for very high quality matches and (the next part is very important) highly desirable rewards for high placements in elite queue, namely TOURNAMENT QUALIFICATIONS.

Idiots had Arenas, basically a 3v3 version of Valorant and instead of improving it, they deleted it and added NOTHING to replace it. All the noobs keep saying, "Mixtape is better than Arenas", but for really good players Mixtape is trash compared to Arenas. In Arenas Skill was the true determining factor, in Mixtape and BR it's RNG and super dependent on teammates which bad 90% of the time.

I've been playing apex since season 0 and I honestly think that gameplay-wise, the game is in a really good spot. The lifeline rework, dual mozambiques, the new shield "cores" instead of swaps. And I even got used to EOMM, maybe because I'm somewhere in the middle, so sometimes I get pred lobbies, sometimes bot lobbies, feels fair for my level
