Just wanting to say regarding the gun thing, I'm pretty sure almost every case of school shooting are legally purchased guns from gun shops or stolen from parents/borrowed from parents who bought them through appropriate channels. I don't think we have any issue with people buying guns 3rd hand legally and shooting up stuff. You do have a problem with mass shootings related to gang violence that make up vastly more deaths per year than any school shooting and those aren't always obtained legally. It's less about the access thats why it isnt talked about.

I was disabled and abandoned by the government literally from conception, as I was born to a disabled Vietnam vet who drank a river of Agent Orange before he came home after twice being wounded. He became a nuclear medicine tech, so he knew what doctors were looking to see when a cardiac scan and spinal MRI were ordered on me as a young teenager. On Christmas Eve 2007, I moved to a state with a high-risk BCBS pool for those with preexisting conditions. In 2008, I lost my job when the bottom dropped out of the economy. The BCBS pool was closed to new applicants when Obama are passed, although it was years before we could enroll given lawsuit challenges states brought. Finally, it went into effect, and I purchased the most expensive, top of the line policy knowing my high care there's got ZERO care when doctors in specialty practice wouldn't sign on to be in network and NONE of my long list of medications were on the drug list. If all you need is primary care or end up hospitalized as an outfit thing with something easy to solve, like appendectomy or gall bladder removal. Otherwise, you're still screwed! I had to go back to being uninsured and just paying for as much care as I could direct purchase since I was doing that AND paying over $200 a month to get $0 of coverage! Now, before that, they'd done multiple studies and policy plans identifying the number of truly needy uninsured and ill/disabled with conclusions always the same. If they just appropriated funds and did single-payer healthcare paying 100% of our care costs it'd close the gap and leave the marketplace for the younger, healthier uninsured in gig work or whatever without benefits through the job. Over a decade of debilitating illness later, I'm FINALLY getting help at $0 but have to live away from family to get it in a county in a purplish city of a red state, as they passed a half cent sales tax twenty years ago to leverage local resources for an insurance "policy" that's just straight pay but offsets 4 major hospitals getting slammed with emergencies for which no one can pay anything. Just half a cent no one even noticed built up that fund; imagine what they could've done if they'd used federal funds for something like that instead of Obamacrap!

The "Gun Show" firearm purchase isn't real. Everytime you purchase a firearm in the United States you fill out ATF Form 4473. A background check is done over the phone and then a firearm can be purchased. Some states require wait times, other do not. Some states do allow for individual sales. For example Charlemagne could sell Shultz a firearm on a individual level and there is no requirement for background check. This is rare due to the fact that the firearm will remain registered under the original sellers name. Last way is a straw purchase where one person legally purchases a firearm and gives it to another without declaring the firearm as a gift. This is illegal. You can however purchase a firearm as a gift (Father to Son, brother to brother, etc) but there are more regulations to that as well.
