Enjoyed your trip to Palmer and stay in the "Apple Orchard"! Such a cute tiny house. I would love to live in one. Sorry to see Denali on Fire. I hope those who live nearby and those with sled dogs are not affected or can temporarily move out of harms way.

I really thought about a tiny house for my retirement, but I couldn't pass up getting a house to grow into, I love my family and furbabies too much. 😉 They do move animals and families to shelters. We help each other here for sure.

Always enjoy your countryside driving videos. Your choice of music is right up my alley. This music reminds me of Simon & Garfunkle back in the day. There are a lot of S & G songs that brings me back to when I was in high school at Eielson late 60’s early 70’s. Very nice videos, ladies!

Thank you, and yes, the songs I pick are very similar to those that bring back memories to me too. How many people were in High School back then?

Everytime I hear Bridge Over Troubled Waters, I always have memories of me building an airplane model in my room when living at Eielson with the evening summer sun shining through the window. I had a little portable record player and would play that song many times over. I went to school with a friend who was an Eskimo and we exchanged records. I gave him Eric Burton and the Animals and he gave me The Beatles Abby Road. That was a good swap for me!

Another beautiful trip. So sad about the fires. You all were very close. I know when Cooper landing was on fire, I drove right through and felt the heat. Now that was scary! Glad you made it home safely.

We have been here almost 20 years and have been through some bad fires right along the road, with pilot cars, they are really scary! Thank you, I am glad this one didn't jump the river that would have been awful.

People who have not lived in Alaska don't understand how even a small change in the weather can make a big difference. When someone hears you say '76' degrees versus 79 they would say 'so what' but IF you have lived in Fairbanks it really does make a big difference. Those fires don't help. I find that the majority of the people of Fairbanks and North Pole are really friendly. Which makes them unique. If you could have seen the stores back in the late 80s there Ladies. Its like night and day. The electronics you see on the floor usually means they are selling them for 'someone' else while getting a piece of the sale. I saw the sea planes that are used to fight the fires; very similar to the ones in my day. They are very much needed considering the remoteness of where these fires can start. People still live in very rural areas with a lifestyle not so different then it was in the late 80s. Fires can move very quickly there. Very Glad you made it home okay.

Thank's for the ride along. Hope you get lots of rain . We're drowning in Michigan. Feel sorry for all the wildlife. Building's can be rebuilt but wildlife can't make winter if their habitats gone ! Lucky you caught Mr / Mrs Moose, probably got skinned knee's .

@Dbusdriver71 You are right! I keep my house at 64, if it's 69, I don't sleep as well 72 or more forget it. A few degrees really does make a difference. That sun is blazing when it's out. I know anyone my age and older have loads of "stuff" saved, properties look like junkyards, they were use to buying, selling and trading for sure. Those planes that fight those fires have been here for years, they are classics and they still work. I am so happy that the fire didn't spread and damage anything in the area.

@punkotter1867 We have been getting lots of rain, Denali really hasn't but it might be enough to get the fires under control. I wasn't sure if Michigan was getting a lot of rain, I know Minnesota has, it's been a crazy year. We were so worried for the moose, but it didn't seem to be bothered, just got up and kept running.

Loved your video! Glad to hear that Denali will be re-opening on Wednesday and that they have 31% containment. I was on a Princess cruise tour back in 2019 and we were supposed to stay at their lodge in Kenai, but because of a large fire on the peninsula, we were put up in Alyeska Resort instead. Love Palmer! Was there last year. Have you ever had the spinach bread from Talkeetna? I understand it is to die for. Wish they shipped.

Thank you, I just looked at the Interagency website and as of 12:17 aktime the fire in Denali was 97% contained. Oh gosh, that 2019 fire in the peninsula was horrifying. I still want to cry every time I go through there, sorry your plans were changed, but Alyeska was a nice alternative. We try to get the Spinach Bread every chance we can, LOL! It's so good!

Oh I hope all is okay where you are. I have friends in Houston, I still have not heard from them, I am worried. That moose looked young and pretty unfazed by the fall, we were more worried about it that it was ☺ The fire in Denali as of noon today was almost completely contained. They are reopening Wednesday July 10th. 🥰

Good morning Bears 🐻 Of course all of that cotton had to come out after you washed the car, it never fails. At first I thought it was ash from the fires. Do you think Palmer and Wasilla have a Fairbanks vibe, same size? I always preferred the smaller size of Fairbanks over Anchorage. I guess it has to do with the fact that I grew up there. Of course I live in a big city now. 😂 I remember when it got around 80 up there in the summers, we had to use the AC in our cars. Of course our houses didn’t have AC. It was considered hot for us. That Air BNB is neat, total Alaskan vibe. Nice of them to offer food from their garden. Wow what happened to that moose? At first I thought it had gotten hit by a car. Looked like it tripped? 28:38 is this signs of road widening? 😂 29:35 Three Bears Alaska! 😊 That self service sourdough is interesting. I hope nobody steals from them. I hope you get some more rain to help with fires. They looked bad. Especially the Denali one. Heather didn’t look too happy to have you home. 😂 jk Looks like you a great time. Have a great Sunday and week ahead. 😊❤

Hello! That's what I thought when we drove into the fluff, but it just blew off the car, thank goodness. Palmer and Wasilla put together have about half the population of Fairbanks, but they have all the big city commercial things. People call the area Los Anchorage. 80° is very hot here, the sun just blazes. I have seen my thermometer buried past it's highest point of 140°, so something is different when you are directly in the sun. We really did love the airbnb, it was nice to be able to just sit on the porch and chill. Fresh veggies was a plus. The moose was running across the road, it had just started raining, so I am sure there was standing oil on the road. I guess he just slipped. At 28:38 is the Montana Creek area, they have a problem with flooding there, so they put in 3 new culverts and bridges. Those Three Bears Businesses are taking over Alaska, there is a new one going up in North Pole! I think they make good money at that little roadside bakery, they take venmo, We got $15 in stuff and left $20. I am sure other people do too 😉 We got lots of rain here, thank goodness, but Denali didn't get much, it was helpful, but not enough to put the fires out. I think we woke up Heather when we came in, LOL. IHope you had a good weekend and an amazing week ahead 🥰

Hi Bears 🐻🐻🐻 Thanks for taking us along. The B&B was beautiful and such a relaxing setting. Hope the moose was ok ... must have been a little oil on the road to make it slick. That self service bakery was neat ... don't think that would work in many areas though. Hope all the fires are at least contained by now, if not completely out. Must have been very scary ... the roads were fairly close. Glad you and Mary had a great weekend ... hope you and Heather are having a great weekend as well. Be safe. Hugs. 💜💜💜

Hit there! That airbnb was perfect 🥰 I figured that moose hit a slick spot, it had just started raining, he looked unfazed though. I was hoping that bakery would be open again when we came back through, but it wasn't. The fire in Denali and the fire in Montana Creek are mostly contained. Our 2 really big fires up here have had inches of rain over the last week, but they are still raging pretty good, they are just too big. All of us had a great time despite the weather and fluffy "snow". 🤣 Hugs to you all, be safe out there 🤗🥰

Feel bad for the communities and understanding the concerns. We have fire breaks that help slow down and rules about developing. I'm glad you and Mary got away and that little Bunkie was perfect. Palmer could be nice but have you ever considered Eagle River?
@AlaskanBearsVlogs
@AlaskanBearsVlogs 3 ай бұрын
I wish they were more concerned with fire breaks here. That big fire North of us and the one south of us are not being contained, we have had days of rain, so inches of rain and it hasn't slowed those fires much. This was a great trip, but we were so scared when we saw that smoke, the unknown was really horrifying. I am so happy that no structures were damaged and people are okay. I don't care for Eagle River, it's too much like residential to me. I like the farm areas around the mountains. 🥰

I think I am only allergic to the fluffy stuff. And some kind of ornamental grasses. Mary is allergic to a bunch of stuff, but there may be an underlying condition that is causing that. If I had to move away from Fairbanks, yes, Palmer would be my choice. It is much closer to things I like to do and it's so pretty there. Most people like the coast, I like the mountains. 🥰
