Hello! Thank you, Heather was originally going to have to work, but it turned out her work was slow and she got the time off, but we hadn't planned on booking an airbnb for 3 or sitters for the furbabies. She wanted to stay home anyway. It's so pretty in Palmer, the farm we stayed at was beautiful. 🥰

Good Morning, It's always a great time down in Palmer. I know most people want to live on the coast, but I love Palmer, it's my favorite. Apples in Alaska, who would have ever thought, people have been trying to do it since I have lived here, it's working now! The Parks is really growing, you are right, they need to widen it! Don't feel bad Ladies! Even the U.S. Army couldn't plan very well. Rarely does anything goes to 'plan'. 300 miles is quite a drive. It really is the scenic route I loved to do just to do it. I would stop at a hamburger places just because. Alaskan's know their onion rings; Best Onion Rings in the world. RVs were always a problem because as you said, they didn't have the suspension for the road which were quite bad in some places. Those trestle bridges are eternal. I was told they are the most sustainable in the winter. The restaurants back then were fantastic. I can only imagine how much better they are now. Its not just the Railroad tracks that needed servicing but the state highways, a couple times a year. The winter is very punishing to them. Sen. Stevens was always fighting for monies to maintain them. Usually there were a lot of food booths and pits. I don't see many this time. But I like the Atmosphere.

Haha, yeah, we get there when we get there. I never really liked onion rings until I moved here, how funny, now I love them. Yeah, the roads are awful in a lot of places, they are constantly working on them. You are right, there use to be a lot more roadside stands, not so much anymore.

I would have gotten in trouble there. Too many pretties LoL Nice some traditions carry on. Highland need body of water with heat... Adorable cabin, so lucky to find.

You are right! Too many pretty things. That was the warmest day out of all the times we have been there. They need more covered areas for shade. A lot of the cabins we got this year were usually booked because they are 5 star. We did get lucky this year. 🥰

Always love the scenery and the Scottish Highland Games. The air BNB location looked awesome. I would take an 80 degree day if I could be in Alaska and wouldn't even complain, ok maybe I would complain just a little lol.

I love the Palmer Fairgrounds, it's so pretty down there. That airbnb was pricy but we will be looking it up again for sure. 80 degrees here is HOT!!! It really does feel like 100. 🤣

Hi Bears 🐻🐻🐻 Enjoying our annual trip to the Scottish Highland Games. Looks like a wonderful weekend ... can't wait until tomorrow's video! Hope Mary got a pair of the salmon earrings ... I bought 3 pair of earrings today at the Farmer's Market/Craft Show. I think it would be dangerous if I actually attended the Games ... too many great vendors with so many neat things. Do you know how much one of those big poles weighs that the contestants have to flip over? Just curious ... Hubby was worried ... didn't want anyone getting hurt. Appreciate all the videoing and sharing your trip. Hugs. 💜💜💜

Hello! We always have so much fun when we go to the Highland Games. Mary did get a necklace from that lady with the fish skin earrings, but it was rose quartz necklace. Jewelry seems to be one thing you can't have enough of, LOL. Those caber poles are 50 to 150 pounds, I think the ones we were watching were well over 100 pounds, if they don't grab them right from the bottom the first lift, it's awful trying to get it upright, that one guy was so muscular, but he couldn't get the pole level, it was scary to watch. There was a guy last year that decided to do something different with a weighted run and he may have suffered a heart attack, we seen him carted off in an ambulance. So things do happen. LOVE the airBnB is so cuteeeee. What are the chances of wildlife paying a visit? I would go broke with so many vendors and the unique items they sell.

They have a moose fence around the farm, for obvious reasons, but I am sure bunnies and things can get in. There were a lot of birds. We have spent a lot of money at these fairs in the past, that's why you plan on going year after year, so you can think about it until the next year 😉
